Composting with the Worm Factory 360 uses worms to break down waste and is more efficient than a traditional backyard compost pile. Worm compost has been proven to have ten times the nutrients of traditional backyard compost. In addition, its compact design makes it perfect for use in any household. Worm composting makes it easy to recycle kitchen scraps, paper waste and cardboard into nutrient- rich fertilizer for your plants. The worms work 24/7 to efficiently produce rich compost packed with microbes and water soluble plant nutrients. The Worm Factory 360 is simple to set up and operate. Managing your Worm Factory 360 takes less than 15 minutes a week. Simply add a handful of worms and your organic waste to the bottom tray of the Worm Factory 360. The worms will start processing the food. Once the bottom tray is filled add another tray. The worms migrate upward to the newest food source leaving the bottom tray full of nutrient-rich compost. You can do this year-round inside or outside, and harvest compost up to once a month! Your first tray will take about three months to become fully composted by the worms. After the first tray is composted the other trays can take as little as a month depending on the waste added. Once you harvest your finished compost from the bottom tray, you will have an empty tray to stack on top again. The nutrient-rich finished compost can be used in your garden, your raised beds, or on houseplants. This kit comes bundled with one Worm Farming Moisture Meter and one Worm Farming pH Meter to help you keep your worms out of danger. Nothing can put your worms at more risk than extreme bin conditions! Our meters each have a 9" probe that you stick into your worm bin to measure the bin's moisture/pH content. You will be one step closer to becoming a worm composting master when you no longer have to rely on guesswork while maintaining your worm bin!

The meters are wrong for this application.. Buy the less expensive model.
I received my worms really fast after I received the kit so I was under the gun to find out how to take care of them. The instructions that come with the box are basic. I don't have internet at my house and so I couldn't watch the video they recommend. I had to watch You-Tube videos during my work hours because I didn't have the website info that they wanted me to watch. They say the worms will be lethargic when you get them so I was worried about getting them cut loose. When I let them out of the bag they were full of energy and they are fast at squirming away. I was a little confused about how wet to get the coir but they say that you should be able to get little droplets of water between your fingers if you squeeze it real hard. The instructions say to use half the block but I didn't think that was enough and was glad I ordered a refill at the same time I ordered the kit. I used 3/4 the block in one bin. You'll need newsprint to set it up. I didn't want any ink so I went to Home Depot and bought a roll for $10 of 50 sheets. You'll need about 20 sheets to set it up. The meters seem useless. The prongs are about 16" and the bedding in the box is only 6-8" deep. I put the moisture meter in a glass of water and it said zero moisture.... I would buy the setup without the meters. They say don't overfeed them because the environment will turn acidic and burn them. First I just chopped the food really small -I could see that they were moving it around but it wasn't disappearing so now I've gone to blending it and I added cornmeal to soak up the "juice". They are suppose to love coffee grounds and pulverized egg shell. Other than that I put in shredded cardboard which a lot of people seem to recommend. I couldn't find a shredder that said it would shred cardboard and didn't want to take a chance so I just shredded my own with a box knife. In a half hour I had a whole trashcan full. Someone said they have all the layers processing at the same time so I was concerned that 1,000 worms in one layer would be too much - so I started two layers at first. It's a little difficult to get into the first layer to feed them as they always seem to be a lot of worms hanging between the two layers. Other than that I am very lucky to have a husband that doesn't freak out when I bring them into the kitchen at night because I am afraid the temperature outside will fall below 40 degrees. I guess I'll be doing the same in summer when it gets above 85. I don't know what I'll do in winter - maybe I'll cut them loose in the garden. :) It is true what they say about putting a lamp overhead so they don't escape. I spent a few hours watching them on the first night. On the second night I didn't do that and I found a few that didn't make it when I was mopping the floor. it's very interesting and I do recommend it. It is a great introduction into vermiculture.

Exceeds my expectations so far!
Exceeds my expectations so far! Although I have only had my 360 for a few days, I am impressed with the quality and the detailed, easy to follow directions. I received my worms a couple of days after the 360, which was perfect. I had everything set up and waiting for the worms. I did exactly what the instructions said and the worms have already become used to their new environment. I am a complete beginner--never done composting or worm farming. But I am a pretty decent gardener. I believe that this investment is going to repay me for many years to come. I am already planning to order more trays. Note: I thought that the instructional DVD was missing, but I found a notice that the instructions are now online. I entered the link and the provided pass code and the videos were there for me to watch. Honestly, this is an amazing product that has great documentation. You cannot go wrong with this purchase if you are serious about composting.

Great Worm Farm
I purchased this worm farm to both compost more but also for an activity with my young daughter. Our worms have been in house for 3 days now and are doing well. This kit great since it includes items like rock dust that are critical for the worms but would be hard to find other wise. Good instructions were really helpful. The design great too. Small details like the fact that the lid doubles as a tray to hold the worm trays when you take it apart. Overall very pleased.

Worm ranching neew for us.
Only 2 days into the experience so far. The worms seem to be active and so "happy?" We have it in the garage since the weather is threatening to approach the mid 30's. We used to have a large bin in our garden into which large quantities of paper and household scraps and flowers disappeared. I don't know if this small thing will come close to that in our small house and lot. Should still make lots of good stuff, but probably not handle everything.

Our Worm Factory & worms arrived and we've set everything up easily. HOWEVER the picture is not accurate compared to the product that arrived. It did not come with the informational DVD or the composting book which I was expecting to help me learn more about it. There is a download-able 80 page document that I can print but without a printer this is not possible.

Easy set-up
We've only had our Worm Factory 360 Composting Bin + Moisture and pH Testing Meter Worm Farm Kit set up for a couple of days, but the worms seem very happy in their new home. Set-up was easy, with clear instructions included in the kit. Delivery was lightning fast, and company outreach has been comprehensive but not intrusive. I'd recommend this company and this worm bin.

Worm Farmer
I find the Worm Factory well worth the time and effort of getting it up and going. Every time I uncover them to add some choice morsels ( to them ) they dive undercover. The product is so well backed up, to ensure your satisfaction that I would and have recommended it to my friends. Keep up the good work.
