Good maps
Love the program don't like the price. It showed the hiking trails I needed, trailheads and camping areas. I like going off trail and have a good sense of direction but wanted a backup plan for when I'm hiking with my son. I also used it to help find off trail water sources. This makes it easy to navigate back to the trails. It was off slightly... the line showing where I walked was just off the trail.

Very good GPS SD card map for Garmin, good price
Very good GPS SD card with maps of entire northern Rocky Mtns states. An affordable, good alternative to more expensive SD card/maps of individual states composing the northern Rockies.

The difference between a compass and a GPS...Again!
Amazing! Just took ROAM for a spin on the river and backcountry trails. Without the chip, my GPS is obsolete. What I thought was a useful collection of information about where I was and what was nearby was actually just like describing a book without actually reading it. The ROAM chip took the difference between no GPS and having a GPS and doubled it again! The level of detail is astonishing. ROAM turned backcountry trails into a street-by-street navigation. There were trails I didn't even know where there along my usual haunts and sure enough, there was a trail or overgrown logging road from decades ago just sitting there buried in underbrush. In the old trail maps I've got are mimicked on the GPS including their name. While GPS technology is already essential, the ROAM chip takes the handheld GPS to an entirely new level of use in the backcountry. I usually travel across blank space on the GPS screen, but now I have a defined trail with a clear picture of where the trail goes and what other trails are around. Plus there's the 24k topo. Plus there's the geographic features. Plus there's the general land ownership.I pulled the chip out just to see what it was like after using the chip for a couple trips. My GPS looked blank compared to all the data on this chip. Frankly, I cannot imagine using my GPS without it. It's just that good!

Use your GPS like never before
When I first fired up my GPS system at my house I was presented with an unimpressive grey field that indicated the highway a few hundred yards away. While that is accurate, it is incredibly boring and not overly useful. Then I put in the ROAM chip.Suddenly my GPS is an information machine. It tells me if the land I'm on is public or private or government, etc... I see roads, I see all sorts of very useful information. This little chip changed my GPS from a device I could use to retrace my steps to a pocketful of invaluable information to have out on the trail. Highly, highly recommended.

As a Landscape Photographer and Avid Outdoorsman - Great Addition!!
As a landscape photographer and avid outdoorsman, this new ROAM chip has been an invaluable tool added my kit. I always have my GPS with me on outdoor adventures and the new ROAM chip has helped me find great, new locations to photograph. Property boundaries are color coded, labeled (i.e. private, national park, reservation, BLM, etc.), and very easy to distinguish. It's also nice knowing what type of roads get you to some of these backcountry locations (i.e. highways, two track, hiking trails) and the scenery on the way. Waterfalls, streams, creeks, geysers and all sorts of labels. Some of the more interesting spots I've found by looking through the map so far are mines, cabins, ranger stations, springs, hot springs, caldrons, children firetrail (no idea what that is), outhouse (yes, I did see an outhouse on the map), disc golf courses, and quite a few other things listed on the map.Highly recommended mapping product for any outdoor enthusiast!
