Outstanding battery life. I get over 800+ shots easily on my Sony Alpha camera. Never buy cheap knockoffs when you're shooting important events..stick to the genuine Sony version. It holds its charge perfectly even in cold weather. Fast shipping too!

Extremely Disappointing Experience
Review for Sony NP-FZ100 Battery Purchased on Amazon – I ordered the Sony NP-FZ100 battery from Amazon, delivered on November 10th, only to discover it was defective, used, physically damaged, and non-functional right out of the box. On the same day, I contacted Amazon, hoping for a resolution. Instead, I was directed to call Sony's toll-free number. Sony, in turn, instructed me to take the battery to a service center. I submitted the battery to Sony’s service center on November 11th, expecting prompt assistance. However, as of today, there is still no resolution. Amazon keeps insisting that I follow up with Sony, while Sony's toll-free service asks for a “job sheet number” from the service center. Meanwhile, the service center refuses to issue this number and redirects me back to Amazon. Adding to the chaos, the invoice from Amazon does not even mention the battery's serial number, which is causing further complications in the claim process. This endless back-and-forth between Amazon and Sony has been an incredibly frustrating experience, with zero accountability from either party. I strongly caution others against purchasing high-value or sensitive products like batteries from Amazon, as their after-sales service has proven to be absolutely abysmal in my case. This level of inconvenience is unacceptable, and neither Amazon nor Sony seems willing to take responsibility. Buyers beware!

A quality, reliable if not inexpensive option
Key Specifications Type: Lithium-ion Capacity: 2280 mAh (16.4 Wh) Output Voltage: 7.2 V Weight: 83g I bought this genuine Sony battery after years of using 3rd party options at sometimes a fraction of the price. The reality is that this usually turn out to be a false economy as they don't last or perform the same as genuine items. This is without doubt the biggest pill to swallow with the official NP-FZ100 is its retail price, routinely hovering around £60-£70 for a single battery. Third-party clones often yield 10% to 15% less actual capacity right out of the box, can degrade significantly faster over a couple of years of heavy cycling, and occasionally trigger a "Battery not recognized" firmware warning on newer Sony cameras. More so as manufacturers constantly play 'cat and mouse' with third party suppliers. So yes, there are many reputable suppliers of Sony batteries and if cost cutting was my goal I would buy those. But for my peace of mind I choose these knowing they will perform as Sony intended. I think this is, cost aside, a solid purchase for all Sony modern cameras and I would recommend this for a stress free experience.
