It gives a nice burn for these jars. You always get a nice burn to the whole circumference of the jar. I only learned this through trial and error. **Q: What is the lid material? They are very good quality for 8oz soy wax candles. I wish we could choose between the metal and the plastic lids as I don't need the plastic ones and I feel like it's very wasteful to send both, plus I now have 48 plastic tops taking up space. There are spots that can't be removed (tried basic removers without damage) from the lids. They look as though they may be from the feeder from the factory and it may be from oil or heat, but other than that, they function well and look great.
