Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Ice
One of my coworkers had purchased a set of two similar balls and raved about them because they went on sale and they take so long to melt and they don't water down his drink. I almost bought those, but then found this set of 6 for about $5 per sphere, which was a better deal. These spheres are pretty big. I know the diameter is 2.5 inches and I looked at it on a ruler, but you don't appreciate the great size of these balls until you make them. They're bigger than a golf ball and have good presence.Using the spheres was easy! I was throwing a baby shower and I made purée out of three different colored fruits and poured them in layer by layer on different days to create a striped effect. The result: 6 stunning, colorful ice spheres. This project made me appreciate the slightly transparent silicone. I could see how far up I was pouring each layer. They also have a guide at the top so you don't over fill. The silicone made for an easy release and the balls looked pretty cute floating in the punch bowl. The clearer the drink, the better because then you'll be able to see the balls. Also, they melted slowly, so there was a good hour of floating spheres. Of course, the puree changed the color of the drink, but it was really cute in the beginning when you could see the balls. I think I'll make some sort of freezy pops with my kids next. These would be perfect for that. We've had freezy pop molds, but I think the easy release of this silicone will make for a better pop. The trick is going to be finding sticks that can support these big spheres. The molds have a slightly flat bottom, which makes it easy to sit them in the freezer. I like that they're separate. I saw some ice sphere trays, but I appreciated being able to move these around since my freezer is pretty busy.Cleaning was a breeze. Filling was a breeze. I used a funnel to help me fill with purée, but I imagine if I was just using water I would have just poured it in without regard to leaking down the sides.

DO NOT BUT THIS. Dose not work as it should.
I have no clue who is giving such great reviews for this that I actually read a lot and decided to but this.First off the apparatus dosent really work that great and it's a hassle.Second off you get tempted that you are buying 6 of these balls so you are thinking you need 6 balls at a single time to entertain guests. If you see what I mean, it's not a well made product plus how many times are you gonna entertain 6 guests who all want ice spheres in their whiskey. Now the product itself comes well packed and is appealing to look at but the moment u fill them with water the water starts to slowly seep from the ball.I got super frustrated and returned them.Either if you are sure that you need 6 spheres at a time and u have a ice cold freezer which will freeze the water before it looses it's shape of a sphere very fast don't get this.Tovolo has same type of sphere molds and they work awesome but you get only 2 for 10 dollars.

Good, but a little disappointing....
I see many 4 and 5 star reviews, so maybe I had my hopes up. I use old tupperware or plastic containers to make very large 'cubes', or perhaps small 'blocks', for my gallon water jugs for work. A couple of the 'blocks' last all day. But 3 balls in each jug did not make it past lunch, so I'm back to using my old tupperware to make blocks. I find these hard to fill and separate. I did not get any directions, if there are any, for possible hints on filling and separating them. Also, one leaked even the first time I used it, so I basically have a 5-pack. I saw a review comment that suggested swapping 'covers' around if they leak, which I will try and will mark them if they need to be 'matched'. These were not advertised for gallon jugs (so I should not 'downgrade' them for that), and they are a convenient size for 'kitchen' use and do last much longer than icemaker cubes. But no more than 3 stars for a 5 pack.

Makes a pretty good sphere
Everything works as advertised. Makes a pretty good sphere. My only complaint is that the ice balls melt faster along the line where the seam in the mold is for some reason. This eventually results in two half sphere in your glass. This isn't immediate however and I am usually done with whatever was in the glass before it really makes a difference. All in all I am very happy with the product.

Great product at a great price. I love em!
Great materials and design at a great price. I took a chance on these in part because they were less expensive than competitive products. You get six for the price others charge for four. After receiving and using them for a couple of weeks, I'm really happy that I saved myself some money. These are great. I can't imagine spending more money will get you a better product than this.In fact, it could get you a worse product. For instance.....1.) These are made in a semi-clear silicone which means you can see how much water you've filled them with. Others are made out of completely opaque, dark blue or black silicone which means you can't tell if they are over or under filled.2.) These have a fill line near the top so you can produce a perfectly round sphere every time without guessing. That means less cracking in the mold and less misshapen ice balls that expand and push the mold apart.3.) The silicone these are made from is pretty heavy duty and the bottoms have a flat spot so they won't go rolling around your freezer spilling water everywhere before they freeze. Some other products I looked at didn't have that basic design element.I can see these being in my freezer for a long long time.

Don't waste your money
The ice ball makers come in sets of 6. Only three of them held water without leaking, but that was only for the first use. They also leaked after the first use. Upon contacting the seller, I was told to try switching the pieces around with each other; that was their solution. Never heard another word from them. Poor quality product - even poorer quality service.
