My grandson, who says he is a future farmer, loves John Deere. His bedroom was redone recently with a John Deere theme. This lamp is a perfect complement to his new room. The base is on the heavy side for its size and quite sturdy. I don't think there's any chance of any pieces breaking off--an important feature in a five-year old's room. I asked my grandson what comment he would make about the lamp and he said, "it is helpful and it never burns anything."
