This is the first is a series of mortars and pestles I am making with carved exteriors. The outside is glazes, but not the inside in order to provide a good grinding surface for handmade pesto and teas or pulverizing herbs. This one measures 4.75 inches across by 2.5 inches high. There is a groove the pestle rests in which is also useful for pouring out the contents after grinding.
