The HTC Vive has tracking units called Lighthouses that you attach near the ceiling, and power supplies for them that plug into the wall. But by default, they're just turned on at all times, which isn't good, since this involves running motors and lasers. There's a way to get them to hibernate when not in use by turning on Bluetooth on them, but it doesn't work all that well--if the lighthouse loses its Bluetooth connection (and you know how unstable Bluetooth connections are) it can shut down while in use. You can alternatively unplug the lighthouses when they're not in use, but mine are plugged in behind a bookcase, so that's not a great option either.These are a way better solution. Cheap, simple, and effective. Should have been included in the box.

I bought this for a lighting project which turned out to be a big pain in the butt. The switch is nice however since it can stay plugged in and just be flipped on and off.
