My usb-c port in my laptop is very tempremental. does anyone know if this will work with a standard hdmi to usb-c cable?

I don't think this would work with an HDMI cable. It requires your laptop USB-C port to support Displayport. Not all USB-C ports support this, but you can purchase an adapter.

It comes with a cable to connect to laptop. I think only one monitor can connect to laptop
