Not the pattern I needed, had to customize it
I used this to cover a 14x14 inch patch on my ceiling from a light fixture we removed. The pattern is way too small and had to cut out my own holes in the template to somewhat match what I have. The other issue is that if you try to butt up the pattern -the border on the template leaves an empty line and have to go over it again once the first 2 patches dry. I end up cutting the border line and after it made a somewhat seamless continuous pattern after. I had to keep washing the template after each patching. All in all, it worked ok but it took longer and not as easy as thought.

Breaks easily. Doesn't work like you think it will.
I read a few reviews about this before I purchased and what other people wrote was correct. It's not as easy to use as you think. they really needed to take the design cut outs to the ends of the stencils. You can't just lift it and repeat because the sides will smash your work so you have to wait until each section dries to do the next section. It did my job but took much longer than needed. Also, this is a lot thicker than your normal knockdown so there is a bit of sanding needed in order for it to match our previous knockdown. However, in their defense if they made it any thinner it would snap more. I had a lot of breakage in the stencil.

works great!
After removing thick crown molding, some of the wall texture was ripped off. I was able to recereate a very similar texture on both walls and ceiling to the original. I did have to sand it down a little but results were impressive. I used joint compound.

Medium Texture Template
It is a quick and easy way to do knockdown texture without having to dap it on the wall or ceiling or getting a spray gun. The patch needs to be about two-thirds the size of the template to be most effective. If you are using joint compound you do need to thin it down somewhat to pancake batter consistency (that is it should almost pour out of your container with with a little effort) and should still stick to your trowel while applying the mix. May still have to wet/dry sand the area to blend it in better.

It's about as close as you can get
I used this to repair a few holes I had from some old in-wall speakers. The pattern mixes in rather well with what is on the wall and is easy to use. It is a bit difficult to use this if your repair goes outside of the pattern. If you need to do so, pull back the edge so you don't get a thick straight line.

not all that good
works for little spot repairs. haft or full sheet it just makes a mess.

Great repair tool!!
I had had a spot on my ceiling that had supposedly been fixed by someone, but the spot bothered me every time I looked at it. There was hardly any texture to the repair. I used this tool and after painting over it, it never bothers me anymore!! Don't think anyone would ever know there was a repair done now!

Perfect tool for the job
It was my first ever dry wall repair, DIY. And I needed a way to match the "knock down" texture of the walls in my apartment. I found these online. They did the trick. And I am proud of the results I got using this drywall repair tool
