I gave it 5 stars because it really works but...use lightly. It turned my aubern hair pinky red after 4 minutes left in. Nice shine, soft and smooth.

My hair has been all-over bleached and then dyed a dark red copper. The red copper color I walk out of the salon with — and the only color I really want my hair to be — starts fading from the very first wash and will usually reach pure orange within a couple weeks. My goal is always to keep the rich red around for as long as I possibly can, so I start treating it with red refresher from the second or third wash.The autumn red matches my salon color really well and keeps it in place. I'm normally apricot blond if I go two months without a salon visit but I've refreshed five times with this (I leave it in around 20 minutes rather than whatever the label says) and, amazingly, I still have red hair (picture is from today). It’s a much nicer color than other red refreshers I’ve tried — often they have too much purple in them, or maybe just not enough brown/orange. I’m really happy with this product.
