Q: What kind of hook would you recommend for these worms?

I use a light wire mosquito hook size 10 or 12 works for me and allows the worm to float.

Q: Why are they called floating? Do they stay on top of water and do not sink?

Yes , unless you weight them down which alot of folks do, in which case you can send a sinker to the bottom and let the worm float up off the bottom. Too heavy a hook however will make them sink as well. Thank you!

Q: How many are packaged in this? Is it just a single worm, a six pack, or what?

You get 15 inside. They are all connected, you just need to pull them apart to use them.
