You have to be very careful buying DPDT switches based on the Amazon listings. You are better off finding what you think is right and going to the manufacturer's website to see if the model number is the right one for your application. You could be looking for a GSW-123 or something similar. **Q: Can this be use as a kill switch on a car?** A: Yes, it can be used as a kill switch, but it depends on what circuit you're interrupting. When the toggle is pushed in either direction the contacts on that side of the switch make contact. For sake of discussion, assume we are speaking of the one set of contacts along the long side of the switch. When the switch is pressed forward the center and far (still along the long side) contacts will make contact. When the switch is pulled back, the center and near side make contact. It is also a Momentary On which means the contacts will only make contact while the toggle is pressed. Once released the toggle automatically returns to center which is usually the off position.
