Wild-Vision Full HD 5.0 Trail and Game Camera, Premium Pack

This is my first purchase of a trail camera. I was very happy that it came with batteries and a memory card, so that I didn't have to purchase those separately before I could use the camera. The set up was easy, as long as I referred to the instruction manual. I set the camera up in an urban environment and did some testing during daylight and in the dark. The daylight images are very clear and the night time infrared images are almost as good. Overall I am very happy with the camera purchase. The video is also very impressive. I am using the photos plus video mode. It takes 3 images and a short video each time it is triggered. I am taking night time images using the 40 No-Glow Black LEDs for illumination.The camera has two latches that attach it to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket also holds extra batteries for extended use. The mounting bracket has a vertical convex shape and a horizontal concave shape which comes into contact with whatever it is mounted to. The mounting bracket has slots for attaching the strap which holds the camera in place. The mounting bracket and the strap design could be improved upon. It takes both hands and some time to attach the bracket to a tree or fence post. Some quick release strap buckles and two straps would improve the design. The mounting bracket needs three points of contact with whatever it is being mounted on so that it is stable.I wish that the metal housing for the camera was available on Amazon.

I have to say that I am really impressed with this company and its product. I'd bought the Wild-Vision game camera for my husband's birthday, but when we turned it on, it had a problem and we couldn't get it to operate. After trying everything we could think of, we contacted the company. It was after the 30 day return period, so didn't know what to expect.The company is in Germany and they responded quickly to my request for help via email. They provided troubleshooting guidance, but unfortunately that didn't fix it. After further consultation with the company, they decided to replace the camera as it must have been defective. The requirements were pretty straightforward. They had me reorder a new camera through Amazon and then they reimbursed me for the cost of the first one.Throughout it all, they were courteous and responsive. Just the way you would want a company to do business with you.Of course the really great part is how well made the camera is, how easy it is to use and the great pictures it takes. With minimal set up, you just put the batteries in and an SD card, turn it on and mount it where you want. I especially like that you can easily remove the camera to empty the card and then snap it back in place. Already we have captured deer, a possum, a fox and even some doves and a squirrel. You can just have it take pictures or have it take both pictures and video. This is a camera worth having if you are looking for a good sturdy wildlife camera.

I bought two of these. I'm comparing this camera to the other one I bought and returned, the Stealth Cam G42.1. This camera can run on 4 or 8 batteries, whereas the Stealth Cam requires 8.2. There is a sensitivity setting for the motion detect distance, which the Stealth Cam did not have.3. There is a setting to delete older videos and keep recording new ones. The Stealth Cam does not have this feature, and the memory card will fill up.4. There is a built in screen on the camera, which the Stealth Cam did not have.5. The HD is 1080P, whereas the Stealth Cam is only 720P.The only problem I had, is that it fell about 3 feet where I had it sitting, and a small pin on the battery door broke. So I would not recommend putting it anywhere that it can fall. It still worked even with the broken pin. I went to their website (which is in German) and filled out the form for a replacement part. They mailed me the replacement part even though I don't believe this type of damage was covered by the warranty, so the customer service is excellent.

I bought this camera over others because of the reviews in German. On Amazon.de, it has 635 reviews currently with an average rating of 4.5 stars. (The camera is designed in Germany and manufactured in China.) Here, on Amazon.com, it currently only has 18 reviews, although it also has a 4.5 rating here. The only complaint, and it's minor, is that the auxiliary battery pack, which clamps to the back, has to be removed to access the off/on switch. Unless you have the timer set so that it's operating only at night, you will always get a few shots you don't want while setting it up. As I said, this is really a minor complaint. Edit: Now I'm getting a blinking red LED on the front (the "Status Anzeige") and it takes no video, although it's showing what the lens sees on the LCD. There is nothing in the German manual on troubleshooting, so I'm reducing by one star...

Unpacked this thing and t's very intuitive and easy to set up.The camera comes ready to go with 4 batteries already included for the main unit, and surprisingly a 4gb SD card was also part of this whole set- which is AWESOME because it saved me time and money buying one separately. You can use up to 32gb SD cards though.The camera is pretty much ready to go out of the box. You can start recording, take photos only, or do both- depending on your preference- you can easily switch between those modes. Depending on your preference you can configure PIR which starts recording when the camera picks up body heat, which is a feature regular cameras do not have. Most of the security cameras use motion capturing, this one also has heat sensors.You can also review your footage immediately on the camera itself- or you can connect it to your computer via a USB cable (also included) and review your recordings there. The camera cover itself is very durable and a strap is also included so you can mount it easily on trees/ fences/ gates etc. Perfectly made for outside usage. Also rain doesn't harm this bad boy. All in all a great product!
