Heavy people may want to rethink.
This kneeling chair is easy to put together and constructed well.As a posture chair it certainly improves the way I sit. When it is adjusted to the proper height, I find I hunch my shoulders less and sit more upright. That being said, I would add this caveat: if you are considering buying this and you are a heavy person like myself, it will hold your weight, however, if you need to work on your core strength you might find yourself tiring after a short time in the chair.I am going to use it alternately with my old chair until my core strength improves. I am an editor and work at my desk A LOT - so after a period of time I find my back hurts some just from holding.I would also add that, as a heavy person you might find some stress being put on your feet - especially your toes. I know it sounds odd, but if you use the illustration to position yourself, you bend your toes or at least put pressure on them to hold the position. I find myself sitting with my feet flat more than kneeling because no matter how I adjust the chair my calves are long enough to wind up with toes pushed against the floor bent forward - even if I have stiff soled shoes there is pressure on the toes. That being said, I am perceiving some strengthening in my core muscles. So, in spite of the muscle fatigue at this stage, I think I will moderate the usage somewhat, but continue to use the chair.

If you're looking for a kneeling chair, this is probably the one to get.
Excellent quality to the build, and the cushions are really comfortable.Assembly:--------------Mine did come with instructions, contrary to what some other folks have said (maybe they fixed that?). The instructions have no words on them, though, so I recommend that you take all the parts out, arrange them in little piles based on the pictures, and it goes quick. Honestly the whole assembly process took about 10 minutes and had 6 steps; bookcases and desks and such have tended to be a lot more complex.Having a second hex wrench handy to fully tighten the bolts that go into shafts with a bolt on either end would not be a bad idea, though. The threads are reasonably long, but I'm not sure how often this might need tightening if you don't use two wrenches at the start (only one hex wrench is included, and I haven't had my kneeling chair all that long, so I can't speak to that yet. It seems okay though.)Build quality:--------------Quite a bit better than I expected, honestly. I figured it would be livable but on the cheaper end, but this actually feels a bit on the luxurious side, particularly with the seat cushions themselves. The cloth covering is even a nice quality. The metal parts are all sufficiently sturdy, and nicely coated to avoid rust and whatnot. Much better quality than a lot of things these days.I didn't use the casters since I'm using this on carpet anyhow, but from my brief look at them they seemed notably lower quality than the rest of the unit. Not awful, and not something that would break, but I would be a bit concerned about it scratching up my hardwoods if I was using it in a different room. Might or might not be a real issue depending on your floor, and the casters are of a standard size that you can swap out at your local hardware store for a couple of bucks if you really have a big problem with it. I may be complaining about nothing there, but that was my observation.Comfort:--------------I've only had this for a couple of days, but early impressions are extremely favorable. My 6 year old son was able to sit in it comfortably at the default adjustment, as am I (6'4", 180lbs), which I thought was interesting. My wife immediately liked it, too, and she's between the two of us in size. She gets a lot of pain from regular chairs, much moreso than me, and was remarking that this chair encourages you to sit with proper posture, whereas regular chairs typically encourage bad posture. That seems pretty much to match up with what I feel.I will note that sitting in this is definitely something that you have to adjust to, but that's true of any kneeling chair. If you sit with bad posture in it, your shins will start hurting. If your shins are bugging you, then either shift them off the bottom cushion tempoarily, or sit more erect on the main chair itself. You may need to adjust the position of your keyboard or monitor, as well, or raise or lower the chair, to keep the ergonomic hand/arm positioning you're hopefully already accustomed to.I found that I was accidentally sitting too far back at first, and giving myself some neck pain just from how I was leaning forward to get to the keyboard. Simply scooting the chair 2 inches closer and my arm posture was back to what it should have been, which thus resolved the neck pain.Final thoughts:--------------It's definitely a new experience, sitting in one of these. However, I'm really glad I got this specific brand. The price was right, and the quality is better than I'd dared to hope. I still have my regular chair as well, and I expect I'll alternate between the two of them. But if "sitting is the new smoking" has any validity (who knows for sure), then I think this is something that certainly helps. I've been having a lot of back pain in general lately, and this is a vastly more comfortable alternative to something like a standing desk. Standing gets my back even worse than a regular chair (walking/running is fine), so this is a really great middle-ground for me.The sellers are also great: quick shipping, a personal note to help with instructions if I needed it, and so on. Definitely folks to support.

Not for someone with poor knees
I was hoping that this chair would alleviate my discomfort from sitting in a desk chair for 8 plus hours a day. Although my back did hurt less, my knees and rear end could only handle this chair for a couple of hours and then both were achy - my knees were the worst. Not sure if it's because I'm long legged and the chair wasn't big enough or what. The assembly directions were poor - fairly condensed picture with the parts next to where they would go. I don't recall seeing anything that told you the rod that goes between the 2 frame pieces expands. Sending it back but I get to pay return shipping

Works very well, but needs instructions
I've been dealing with a hip flexor injury that was being constantly reaggravated by having to sit 8 hours a day for my job.I've been using this chair for a few days now, and I've already noticed a significant improvement. I feel like I'm actually starting to recover from my injury instead of being stuck in a cycle of reinjury. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that this thing really needs instructions on how to sit in it properly. For the first few days, I could not sit for more than an hour or so without pain in my knees / shins. It took some internet searching, tinkering with the chair and experimenting with the chair, but I finally found how to sit properly:- You need to sit in the very back of the seat cushion, otherwise too much weight will end up on your knees and they will ache after a short time.- You need to sit without hunching your back, otherwise your butt will start to hurt. That's a good thing in that the chair makes you sit with good posture.- Your toes should rest on the ground to reduce pressure on you knees. It takes a bit of adjustment and experimentation to find the "Goldilocks" position, but once you do, this chair is amazing. Highly recommended for people with hip or lower back problems.
