This is definitely an interesting product. Who would have thought steel soap would get rid of smells on your hands. Whether you have the smell of food, like onions or garlic, or of you were working on a car and your hands smell like grease, whatever the case, this soap works. Wow. I would have never thought something like this would work so well. This "soap" is small and lightweight. The few people that have been to our sink to wash their hands have asked about it and want to buy one themselves.I think this item is a must have. I would recommend it to basically anyone - I mean, everyone has had something smelly on their hands before, and this soap will absolutely remove the smell. This isn't going to completely neutralize odors, especially if they're super strong. Don't expect magic here. But it still does a pretty good job, and it's also a one time purchase. If you cook a lot, this will save you a ton of money. It'll get the worst of the smell off without drying out your hands like soaps can. I wish it did more than it does, but it's not a total waste of money.

This was a great novelty stocking stuffer but really doesn't seem to work as well as I had hoped for. I cut up an onion and followed the instructions but still had onion smell on my hands. I'll try it on other smelly food items and see if I get a better result. Three star because it didn't work as well as advertised.

My daughter gave this to my husband for Christmas and everybody laughed when they saw a steel soap bar. How could this possible work to remove onion, garlic, and fish odors from his hands? Well, it WORKS GREAT!. Amazing to chop garlic and wash your hands with this silly metal soap bar and then sniff your fingers and no more garlic odor! Also I think it looks cute in a little dish by my kitchen sink! Lots of people have commented and asked where to get one so I'm sure it would make a great gift.

This did not work at all. Two of my teenage kids work at a pizza restaurant, and cut onions daily. Unfortunately this did not work to get rid of the onion smell on their hands. Lemon juice for the win! We returned this product for a refund.

Not very effective

This stuff works well. It is not a replacement for regular soap, but if you have an odor that is not easy to remove with regular soap, adding this to the process will be a great improvement. This particular version of steel soap is better than the others available because it is easy to hold. Oval shaped steel soaps slip out of my hands very easily when I'm trying to use them, and the extra shaping put into this version makes it much easier to use.

I was skeptical but willing to try anything to help with the garlic smell after cooking. It really works! I rubbed every surface of my hands/fingers for a few minutes under running water prior to applying regular soap and the garlic smell was gone! It is a great product!!
