LuLu's Kitchen: A Taste of the Gulf Coast Good Life Some cookbooks sit on the shelf and look pretty. A few will be referenced on occasional holidays. Then there is a cookbook like LuLu's Kitchen that will hold a special place of honor at my house. The cover says that it was previously published as Crazy Sista Cooking. I can see why it was republished - so many terrific recipes from the Gulf Coast! All the bases are covered, appetizers, salads, main dishes, desserts and even cocktails. What I like about LuLu's Kitchen is that you'll want to just sit down and read it. Lucy Buffett is a smart and funny lady who shares the story of how she became so successful in the restaurant business while staying true to her southern roots. I've already tried a couple of the recipes and while I'm no chef, the food turned out really well! This is a cookbook that I'll be recommending all the time and giving as gifts for years to come.

If you love seafood, you'll love this cook book! I grew up along the Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama and my family and I spend most of our summers along it's shores! Now that I live in Texas, any time I'm homesick for the Emerald Coast, I pick up this book and cook a few of my favorite recipes. This past summer, we visited LuLu's while we were in Destin, Florida and it was well worth the visit! The cook book will not disappoint - you will love her stories intertwined with all those delicious recipes. The instructions are easy to understand and the finished product is as delicious as you can imagine!

I am so glad that I purchased "LuLu's Kitchen"! Lucy Buffett is a chef and restaurant owner from the Mobile, Alabama area and this is her story in recipes and true tales from her childhood along the Gulf Coast, to her days working in Los Angeles to the present day. Her strong business intincts and natural creativity has served her well and mirrors that of her brother, singer Jimmy Buffett.I'm trying to cook my way through this book (like Julie & Julia) as it is filled with some of the most delicious things that I've ever heard of. However the anecdotes she includes are distracting me from my task!So far nothing that I've made has been hard to do and have been well received, as in NO leftovers. BUY THIS COOKBOOK!

I love Lulu and have all her books. Waiting for another one!!! Doesn't even have to be a cookbook. Each recipe has a story behind it. Everyone I make, turns out well

The recipes are excellent and easy to follow. I consider it one of my "go to" gulf seafood cookbooks. I just wish I had known that I already had it under it's previous title!

Love reading the dialogue about life - that is the first reason I bought this book and another for a gift. Then I started reading the recipes- many will easily appeal to home menus of non-Southerners too - mmmm! The philosophy of cooking and the parallel to living life is the joy of owning this book - between chapters of wisdom, try some of the great recipes! This book is a delight- a sturdy large paperback, colorfully illustrated, easy to read and follow, and fun spelled out on every page. Just get it and put a smile on your face!

This is a fun cookbook for folks who like to experiment and enjoy homestyle cooking. This is a rerelease of "Crazy Sista Cooking" by Lucy Buffett, so you may already have the same book by a different title.
