**Q: Because it can be used as a base and a binder, can i just add my ground rosemary to this and water and shape my cones?**
A: Yes you can.  I would use 2 parts of joss powder and 1 part rosemary.  Try that, and then adjust the recipe until you get the exact scent you want.

It's wood! it has to burn!. Two main reasons your incense won't burn. # 1 not fully dry, cones take quite a while to dry. Sometimes days. And or too much resin in your mix. Best to start with 15-20 percent resin to Joss powder. I'm a person with little or no patience. I put everything in my Dehydrator. Cones take anywhere from 4-12 hours,sticks take 4-5 hours.

The powder smells great in the bag but has no smell when it burns. It is a great binder if you are making your own incense, but know that it offers no smell of it's own - it's primarily just a binding agent and ignitor for homemade incense.
