Use Nail polish remover or acetone lightly to remove old residue from seal bar before applying new Teflon strip Sealer Supply Co

Q: How hot do the foodsaver wires and tapes get to seal

The wire element gets over 260 to 325 degrees so hot that it melts plastic to gather, this temperature melts the plastic sealing bags to gather to create a seal, The Teflon strip is nonstick and allows the heated wire element to melt the seal bag to gather and create a seal, the Teflon does not allow direct contact of the heated wire element and the plastic seal bag, with out the Teflon tape strip the heated wire element will just burn through the plastic seal bag, and leave melted plastic on the wire heating element witch well burn out the wire heat sealing element !!!!!
