I tested 4 headlamps and no way is this one 300 lumens...
I am a runner who occasionally participates in night trail runs. I was looking for a headlamp that was brighter than the 100 lumen one I already had, because sometimes I could not see rocks or roots clearly enough (or in enough time not to trip over them!). I also wanted one that was lightweight and did not bounce when running. I have a few other headlamps, so I was able to compare this one to those. My headlamps are 100 lumens, 140 lumens, 160 lumens, and 168 lumens. It seems that the higher lumen headlamps are the heavier ones (by only an ounce or two). This one weighed in at 3.2 oz. My lightest (100 lumen) is 2.2 oz. This one is right in the middle, leaning toward the heavier side. The light is nice and bright, but it is in NO WAY 300 lumens. This one is just a little brighter than my 140 lumen, but not as bright as the 160/168 lumen ones. So if you are expecting a "super-bright" 300 lumen headlamp, unfortunately it's not this one. I would say this is about a 150-160 lumen, at the brightest setting. I did like that it is easy to operate with just one button. But you also have to cycle through each of the light phases to turn it off. Other headlamps just turn off with one click after they've been on for several seconds. As far as bounce, the adjustable elastic strap holds nicely, and it did not bounce for me when I tested it. I usually wear it over a hat/cap though so I don't get an impression on my forehead. Out of all my headlamps, my favorite is the one by Exploretek (purchased from Amazon if you want to search for it). With that one I was able to clearly see far enough ahead of me on the trails I run, and easily be able to be seen by cars on a dark road. I hope this review helps.

This is the crappiest LED headlamp I have ever had ...
This is the crappiest LED headlamp I have ever had, I've owned quite a few I live in Alaska and it's dark a lot in the winter. It burns up quality, Duracell, batteries in under two weeks where Eveready headlamps burn 5 weeks on the same battery. It just stops when others will at least give one a feeble light until you change the batteries. If you NEED a headlamp you cannot count on this one. 5 thumbs down.

Excellent Headlamp at A great Price
I was surprised that this headlamp truly has 300 lumens for the price. I had purchased from Lowe's a Coast FL40 (newer model is FL44) for $34.97 rated for 285 lumens which did not come close to this headlamp. This is a great headlamp for this range of lumens I would highly recommend

Excellent light source for walking when it is dark out
Excellent light source for walking when it is dark out. Able to see the path ahead. I do wish there were maybe a couple of buttons so you didn't have to scroll through everything to turn it off.UPDATE 3/2017: I walk every morning. I went to change the batteries out and couldn't figure out why one was loose. Well, the metal contact piece had just snapped off where it was bent over the edge. (see pic). It was on the negative contact end. So, now it is unuseable and after only 3 months of use. Yes, it was made in China as it shows in the battery compartment. BEWARE...DO NOT BOTHER PURCHASING THIS. There is no company website to report this to. It seems to only be sold on Amazon.

Easy to use light sequence.
Super easy to transition between brightness and color. The lamp is nice and bright so better than the single battery lamps. It is also comfortable. A little heavier than my wife likes b/c it is a 3 battery lamp but the brightness is worth it, especially when she needs to cast light to the kids' walking area. Also what is nice about this lamp is that red is one of the cycle options. I'm not sure why more companies don't advertise their "on/off light sequence". This light goes....bright, dimmer, red, blinking, off.

A replica of the headlamps used in 1880s gold mines
Cheap and works well. Bright enough to illuminate the path in front of you, or use one of the other options, if you prefer a flashing red or white light. It cycles through the options by clicking the power button, so turning it on and off is less than ideal. After much profound consideration, and consultation with philosophers and theologians, with scholars of law and jurists drawn from all regions of space and time (including several denizens of the Citadel of Ricks), I have decided to award this headlamp four stars.

The Best Headlamp I Ever Bought
I love my new headlamp. I plan on buying another to keep in my day pack. I have used many different headlamps over the years, and this one is the best I have purchased. It is comfortable and stays in place. The headlamp turns on with an easy click. Some others are difficult to push hard enough. This one is easy. I love that it has high-beam and low-beam as well as flashing and red. I use it when I am working on anything that needs a little more light, as well as being outdoors at night, going back to my car after a sporting event, taking out garbage. It keeps me highly visible when I am walking my dogs. I plan to buy more.

DESIGNED TO BREAK. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT...I had it a few months. It was great, comfortable and bright. THEN it stopped working. I opened up the battery compartment and the metal clasp for the Negative touch point for one of the batteries had BROKEN OFF. Its impossible to solder or fix in anyway. It appears intentional as this one clasp is manufactured with a narrow overlap HALF the size of of the other two. WASTE OF MONEY. I WAS ROBBED.
