Super comfortable
This is my second BakUp backrest for my other bike. The fit and finish of this product are first rate. The adjustability both up/down and forward/back make it much more useable on long trips. The stainless steel "arm" is very sturdy and much more useful than some other back rests with multiple stamped pieces of metal.

Could be awesome with a small change but without it, not worth it
I wished so much this worked. It's made of quality material. I have used in on my 2008 R1200RT for the summer. It has one flaw. The hinge on the back is located to high on the backrest (located at the upper 1/3 - meaning more room below the hinge than above the hinge on the back of the backrest). This causes the the top of the backrest to gouge into my back and the bottom doesn't even touch my back. If the hinge were to be located on the middle of the backrest, it would 'float' with the contour of my back so much better. I would be open to try the same backrest with a different hinge placement if the manufacturer would be open to it.

Good product easy to install
Purchased even though I have custom seats and the add stated it should be installed with OEM seats.Still easy to install. A little bending to avoid pushing on back seat. Leather like material seems fine. not as great as the seats but it's a back-rest ! Adjustments seems to be a breeze (front to back) with a screw you turn without any tools. My girlfriend could probably adjust it while I drive if needed.My bike still in garage because it's winter... so did not try it on the road yet. Can't wait...We sat (2 riders) on the parked bike. Back rest is not in the way at all for my girlfriend behind me.Happy with it !

excellent, wonderful, great.. what else can I say. The packing was superlative, parts in package complete wiht instructions.Installation was a snap. The backrest is as advertised.. I'd buy again from this seller!

Tight fit
I really like the backrest. There was quite a bit of adjusting required to get it installed. A very tight fit by the rear brake reservoir. I will have to remove bracket to add brake fluid. Not a big deal. The material covering matches 06 1200RT OEM seat and top box very nicely.
