Love, Laughter, and Tears
This book is an emotional punch in the face! Witches finds Torin and Andris on assignment in California, and while the boys are away the girls will play! By now we've all learned that if Raine is left to her own devices for too long she's bound to find trouble! Her first trouble comes when her visions become more frequent. She's very careful not to brush up against anyone at school or in public. Unfortunately she accidentally bumps into the school's bad boy Beau, and sees his abusive home life that ends in a tragic way. Lucky for him she's decided not to allow that to happen. Beau has just unwittingly become the 1st person under Raine's care. She's determined to change his future, and make his life a happy one. She enlists the help of the only other person with as much free time as herself....Ingrid. In this book you see a whole new side to Ingrid! Wild, funny, and caring she's the perfect person to help Raine. When Raine comes home from helping Beau, and finds the goddess Freya in her bedroom, she knows her life just got a little bit more complicated. When the goddess Freya gives you the gift of a snarky cat, what can you do but accept? Neither Raine nor her new familiar are exacty thrilled about their new relationship, but they struggle through making the best of it. As if they didn't have enough to worry about, the Norns are back with a vengeance! They are more than determined to make sure Raine becomes a norn and severes her relationship with Torin. Too bad for them Torin is warned about their plans from the last person you would ever expect...his father! Torin sets a plan into motion that will trump the norns and beat them at their own game. Torin and Raine's relationship grows so much in this book. She's stronger, feistier, and more confident. She doesn't put up with Torin's crap in this book, and to his credit Torin loves this new side of her. He makes it his goal to make her feel loved. Their love is so strong in this book. Witches was all that we have come to expect from Ednah. It had me laughing with tears one minute, and crying with tears in the next. This book was beautifully written, and like all great books leaves you disjointed from the world. You know when you finish, and don't understand why the rest of the world is going on as normal? Then you realize it's because they didn't just suffer emotional turmoil in the form of a paperback like you did. This book will leave you bouncing with anticipation for the next installment. What more can I say? Don't let the norns win.... Buy this book!

I love mythology and I don't have many books center around ...
I have been with this series for a while now, I remember getting the first book as a Christmas present a while ago. I read Runes and was fascinated by the story , I love mythology and I don't have many books center around mythology. I loved the characters, how feisty the girls and guys were, the personalities were so fun and a met Torin St. James for the first time and he made me swoon. It's been a few years now and I still feel like this world is new to me with new facts being uncovered but I feel like I know the characters so well. I have through a lot with them and not only did I get Raine's pov but Cora's as well which gave me a better perspective of the story.Witches is the sixth book in the series and Ednah really out did herself on this. First I had gotten a little ways into the book and I kept saying this scene feels familar to me and I remeber different things and didn't this event already take place. Ednah manage to tell the same story in Souls ( the fifth book in the Runes series) told from Cora's perspective and told it from Raine's perspective in Witches. The same story on a simliar timeline but told with a diffrent story. I don't know if I am explaining it right but what Ednah did was pretty amazing. The gang is back trying to fight off all the people and creatures standing in their way. Raine is still fighting the Norns but she has also found herself and sees the protector she is meant to be. While things are changing for Raine's love, Torin as well, he has to deal with new aspects of his job as a Valkiyre and help Raine fight the Norns. However through all of that Torin and Raine's love grow even more and it is quite beautiful. I will say that there are parts that just make me love Torin even more (if that was at all possible) I mean I couldn't help but swoon.Witches was a fun intense read and I could wait to see what happened at the end. It was loaded with jokes, fiestiness, love, stubborn determination, kindness and with a little bit of heartbreak. Raine has made her choice and she has taken a stand and I would have loved to read the final book with Raine and Torin. My heart goes to Ednah and her wonderful stories. I am looking forward to reading what I believe is the final book in the Runes series, up next is Goddess.

Great Conclusion to TORRAINE
**Contains Spoilers**This was a great conclusion to the Raine and Torin saga. They're absolutely adoring together! This book pleasantly surprised me! While trying to figure out the order of the books, I kept seeing Essence and telling myself crap, everyone keeps saying this fills in the night Torin and Raine have together after their wedding - the memories stolen from the Norns. This thought made me believe that I would not get to witness their wedding or their night after, but wow. Ednah gave Torraine fans what they wanted. So do yourself a favor and read "Witches" then "Essence" - Ednah fills in teh blanks."Witches" is about Raine's powers getting stronger as a witch, how badass she is against the Norns, and how strong the bond of love is between her and Torin. We meet the bad norns in this book and find out that Raine has fallen into a trap, but jokes on them because she's got Torin that overrides their tricks. The only thing I will say that confused me in this book was the Epilogue. As I said before, read "Essence" after this book. And the next book in the series is technically "Goddess", but if you see the author notes at the end, Ednah even states to go straight to Erik's books and read "Goddess" after "Gods".

Amazing! Ednah always keeps you on edge!
I have received an ARC copy of this book from the author in exchange of an honest review. This book is amazing! Well, the whole series is!In here, Raine, is still learning how powerful she is and how far she can go against Norns (good and bad) before they will go berserk. In here we can see that she can go pretty far and they seem like they are terrified of her. Especially when she bonds with one particular dagger. They have not expect that. The expected that she either won't be able to do it, or she will herself go evil from the power it has. How shocked and scared they are after she is not becoming an evil Norn. She is still fighting against becoming one. And she finally decides on whose side she will be after Ragnarok happens. And it's not Hel's, Norn's or Asgardians. Raine is setting her own goals and does not care what Norns or Gods have planned for her. It's her life and she is determined to make it her own. Among her friends and family. And most important she is determined to spend it with Torin. Her visions are getting more controlled and because of them she is taking charge of few people and their destiny. She wants them to live and have a bright future. And Norns they don't like it, but she simply doesn't care. She is prepared to fight for her "charges" and she will win.Her first "charge" is school's famous Bad Boy, Beau. He is bad, smart, snarky and changes girls faster than anything. Raine is set to help him and save him from the biggest mistake he could do. She is so determined that she even goes to boys changing room to steal his shirt to get a premonition. *smirk*. They relationship is something that spice up a bit feelings between Torin and Raine. It shows that both of them can be also jealous.Torin, he is one sexy Immortal! He knows what he wants and what he wants the most is Raine. Always her. No one else and nothing else. Basically, she is IT for him. And he is telling her that in every way he possibly can. Whenever he feels she is doubting them, her. His way of words is just perfect! The other thing what I love about this part? INGRID! She is so perfect! And amazing Ednah, FINALLY, took her out from her shell and she is showing how fun and kickass she can be! Love her! And the sparks between her and one particular Grimnir? Priceless! The book is simply amazing and gives you high hopes for next parts!HUGE, FAT 5 stars! Well done Ednah! Keep them coming!

Im lost to this series :)
If i could rate this book and the whole series more than 5 stars i would, Ednah has done it to me again and pulled me so far into this series im even thinking about it while im not reading it. From book one i was hooked and they have only gotten better with each one, Raine and Torin are the main Charactures but every one in the series stands out and you wont forget them and will fall in love with and want the best for each and everyone of them.Raine truly becomes who she's always ment to be in this book, she has shown she doesnt need Torin to protect her as much as she used to and she can finally stand on her own two feet by his side not behind him, i have laughed and cried throughout this book.Ednah has an uncanny ability to make them all come to life and become so real the more you read. im already thinking when i can re-start the series again. Ednah is an outstanding author my only complaint is she cant write quick enough for me :) i cant wait for the next instalment and even though i know one day it will come to an end you just dont want it to.

magical mayhem and mainupulation from those Norns they can go and surprise you and not in a nice way. Yet Raine herself becomes
WOW! Just when you think Raine and Co have survived enough drama, magical mayhem and mainupulation from those Norns they can go and surprise you and not in a nice way.Yet Raine herself becomes the ultimate surprise weapon using her new powers as a Seeress combined with her Valkyrie runes and a Norn's dagger she becomes the champion of all - quite literally. There are still as always fantastic moments that the reader experiences whether deep in the action or a quiet moment between Raine and Torin. Now that Raine knows exactly how the gameboard of the fate of the world and the impending Ragnarok are set - it is leading to a climax of all climaxes in the next book.I for one can not wait!

we saw little snippets of Raine but Cora never knew just how much her best friend was dealing with
Book 6 in the series runs alongside Souls and follows Raines adventures. In Souls, we saw little snippets of Raine but Cora never knew just how much her best friend was dealing with. In Witches, we learn just that.Raine and Torin have never had it easy but they have a love that will never grow old, much like them! Unfortunately for Raine, she also has the entire race of Norns out to get her. Good and evil. They all want her on their side. In Witches, we learn that its not just the Norns that want Raine and her gift of sight. Everyone wants her. The gods, the Norns, Hel and all she wants in the ability to choose Torin and love.We meet some fantastic new players in Witches including a familiar for Raine with real spunk, I adore her.Raine, along with her familiar and help from friends and family, decides that she doesnt want to be a Norn but she will help people. She will give them the choice that Norns never do. Raine begins to take on Charges, people whom she can see would have a bright future if it wasn't for the fate the Norns have set for them. Beau is her first charge and don't we just love how he brings out a tinge of the green monster in Torin. Raine can't stand by and watch the Norns ruin lives and prods Beau in the right direction throughout the book. Can we guess how the Norns take her meddling? Fun times ahead. The Norns use Raines heart against her and once again, manipulate her to do their bidding and bring her closer to joining them. Can Raine fight fate and follow her heart. You shall have to hold onto your seat and find out!As for me, I eagerly await part 6!

Edge of your seat
This is yet again an edge of your seat page turner. My addiction just grows for these books and I adore each of the characters immensely. Raine can hold her own now and her and Torin are a formidable pair. Raine shows the Norn's she is not to be messed with but she is wary of them. This for me was the best book to date, all of the characters get mentioned and play a role in it.OMG I was so shocked there was not another one afterwards.................................Help!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woman in need of a new Runes tale of two x
