I have never purchased anything like this before, so I didn't really know what to expect. The Lifestyle Dynamics Stainless Steel Melon Slicer, Fruit Cutter, Melon Baller, & Carving Kit is pretty nice. But would I buy this again? Probably not. At first, it seems pretty simple to use, but when I actually started cutting into the watermelon, it was difficult to get all the way down to the bottom and make an even slice. Picking up the pieces also was difficult as well. My slices came out in misshapen chunks rather than nice, even, slices. This could be due to lack of experience using this tool, or that my watermelon was too big, so I would suggest using a small watermelon to test this out on. The Melon Baller was really nice, it was my favorite tool out of the entire kit. It makes even, smooth, balls that would look really nice on a fruit kabob or other decorative fruit platter. Now for the Carver. Do not get me started on this carver. It is EXTREMELY difficult to use. I wanted to try it anyway for this review and ended up stabbing myself with it. If you do use the carver, use it on a fruit that is softer than a watermelon rind. Although I probably will never use the carver again simply because I do not feel like getting stabbed again.Overall, I most definitely could have lived without this product. And I will be cutting watermelons the way I always have. So if you are into kitchen gadgets, sure, give this a try. You might find that you like it a lot! When the Melon Slicer, Melon Baller, and Fruit Cutter arrived at my home, I decided that someone needed to go to the store to get a Watermelon, 1 Cantaloupe, and 1 Honeydew. Well, my Home Aide and my Son both went so I prayed that my Son remembered how to pick a ripe Cantaloupe and a ripe Honeydew. They came back with great specimens, we got out 2 big bowls and I grabbed the Watermelon and my Son grabbed both Melons. I thought the Watermelon Slicer worked great and the Melon Baller worked great, once I taught my Son how to use it right. Now if I had cut up all this fruit myself and asked my Son if he wanted any, He would say- No Thanks! But, I knew if he enjoyed participating, He would eat the fruit. So, He didn't know I was watching him, and he was daydreaming a bit and all of a sudden he pops a Cantaloupe Ball in his mouth. He looked at me surprised that he had just done that but, said hey- those are good! Too easy.... I received these items at a discount in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

Firstly, I'm making TONS of use of the bonus melon baller (FROZEN melon balls make AMAZING ice for party drinks and water-flavoring!)Check out how on the seller website: [...]Secondly I'm enjoying experimenting with the slicer. I definitely destroyed the first watermelon, but it was overripe and my first time using the slicer. It's simple enough to learn, but like chess it takes practice. And the instructions on the box saved my life! (They also have videos on the website.)The baller has very sharp edges, but the slicer isn't a knife. Cuts like a cheese wire. Definitely use FIRM ripe melons!

I received this at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.I personally did not like it. Wasted as much melon as I was able to use. Tong portion did not grip the slices of melon to allow extraction. Would not recommend for use with melon in half. I have cut the melon into slices with a large knife and used this to remove the green and white outer shell and found it did make clean cuts. Can not say I would recommend to others though. Sorry.

***Update***I’ve now used this slicer quite a few times and I’m so happy with it! It makes cutting and eating watermelon so much easier. My kids love eating the little balls of melon as well! Happiness all around :)I had so much fun cutting up watermelon and playing with this. Slices very nicely and makes it fun to cut up the melon!

Does what it is supposed to do. I do like it! No more messiness when cutting watermelon or melon.

This is awesome! Love the melon slicer works like a dream Perfectly sliced melon is so easy. Haven't used the melon baller yet but I'm sure it will work just as well :)

I just wish I'd gotten one of these years ago! Works fantastic on cantelope, which I love, but didn't get so much because of the trouble cutting it up!
