Great Arca Swiss-style clamp for Manfrotto 502AH fluid head
This is a high quality plate and works well with a Manfrotto 502AH head. The Arca Swiss clamp works well--it tightens easily and stays put. I especially like the clamp orientation designed for Arca-Swiss style plates mounted parallel to the body and not parallel to lens axis.Plate dimensions are 50mm x 90mm (vs 509PLONG 50mm x 140mm). It's long enough to allow decent forward-backward adjustment of the fluid head for mid-range lenses but probably not long enough for a heavy telephoto.I only guess that it's short for staying mounted on the camera and not stick out excessively when carrying it. However, I bought this to leave on my fluid video head so I would have preferred a longer length. I'm using the PM501 with a Panasonic GH5S w/Arca-compatible plate (and sometimes a digital audio recorder in between) on the 502AH fluid video head. The downside is that the shorter PM501 plate can slide out and up without releasing the safety catch on the fluid head. The quick release port (middle of the plate, for use with the ProMediaGear) is smooth and not threaded. The knob can be pulled out, turned, and released so it won't block the plate from sliding forward.I'd rate this 4.5 stars because of the shorter length. But still, after about 9 months of use, it's close to perfect for my needs.

Great solution for attaching Arca Swiss plates to Manfrotto Heads.
Great for Arca to Manfrotto photo heads, just not long enough to be great for balancing on a video head. This product is perhaps the best adapter solution for those who wish to attach equipment with an Arca Swiss style plate to a Manfrotto head provided your attached Arca Swiss style plate runs perpendicular to the direction of the clamp. For me this was almost perfect for mounting my camera with a RRS L bracket to a Manfrotto video fluid head. Unfortunately this plate was not long enough to allow me to properly balance my equipment on this head. The quality is quite good and is made in the US, which is nice for the price. The machininf appears precise with a quality black anodized finish and brand and model number (laser?) etched on the surface. There are some sharp edges, especially on the fixed portion of the Arca Swiss style clamp and strangely along both sides along the lengthy of the Manfrotto base plate in the corner where the plate changes from 45° to vertical. This is a mere observation and does not appear to hurt its performance. although I would prefer to not have such sharp edges, I would not expect it if it would in someway compromise functionality.Unfortunately I will have to return this since it does not quite meet my needs for my video head so I will return it.

Limited Functionality
Only fits the arca Swiss in one direction. I have Zacuto camera cages with arca Swiss plates built into them, and I was hoping this would be the thing that would unify them with manfrotto plates, but this only fits sideways for these cages. It's unfortunate because it seemed like the perfect solution.

USA Quality!
Made in china brands have similar machining but not quite the same quality. Pay an extra dollar for supporting American jobs. Thumb lever on back much more secure than similar knock offs.
