A bit of a disappointment. ****Plus an update

I've waited a long time to write this review. I kept hoping to love the Dizzy Disc. This feels like and spins just like a "sit n spin" and to me that’s not so great. It's the same old plastic and the same loud, rough, slow, spin, so it's crazy that the price is so ridiculously high. I still don't understand all of the raving reviews. I have two typically developing children ages 7 and 8, and I have two children with autism ages 5 and 3. I was so excited to buy this for them all to enjoy, especially because many reviewers say they've had their's for years. My husband said "that's because they never use it". My youngest two children love to spin and be spun but no one wants to use the Dizzy Disc because it hurts so bad! It's kind of small in diameter and low to the ground, so it's not comfortable for taller kids to sit up or lay on their bellies. The easiest way to use it is on your knees, but there are these awful, sharp, hard, ridges on the top...so No one wants to get on their knees. I tried it- it hurts bad and on bare feet it hurts too. I wrote the seller about the painful ridges and they explained they are there for gripping your feet as you stand, but come on... a thin rubber top could solve that problem. After all these years they haven't changed the horrible top. I was hoping that the Dizzy disc jr would be another great addition to our many sensory toys but it just sits on the floor never being used. It's frustrating because it was so expensive. Wish I would've returned it when I could have.****UPDATE!! I originally gave this 1 star but I fixed the problem. I just put a toilet lid cover on it. It fits the top and works great because it has a thin elastic around the edge. Finally the Dizzy Disc jr is being used after 8 months of just sitting there. The toilet lid cover is the usual plush carpet-like kind and adds a tactile form of sensory input and only costs $5 from walmart.

Awesome for Sensory Seekers

This has been a very durable and helpful tool to help calm my sensory seeking child. She can spin on it for quite a while. Fast or slow, tilted or flat. I have found that it is worth every bit I paid for it. I was hesitant to buy it because they are expensive. However, she has outgrown her sit and spin. The sit and spin is not as durable for high usage, nor does it provide the option to lie down flat. Definitely happy with the dizzy disc.

Wow!!! You spin me baby right round.....

Woohoo! This is sit and spin on steroids. My 5 year old self is super jealous of my kiddos right now. I stumbled across this product on Amazon well before XMAS. It kept calling to me especially with reviews that they have been in the family 30+ years.Watch the price on Amazon it fluctuated a ton over Holliday season. I was able to scoop it up for $130 the first week in December....But I have not seen it that low since. Definitely worth the money. Great Quality. my oldest is 3 and I can envision him and his junior high school buddies having a blast with this.It is fast!!!!!! Our three year old likes to go fast so my husband spun him......It was a little too fast! That never happens. Super impressed off the bat!!!Hoping this will one day be used by grandkids! Buy it. The quality is on point. And so worth the coin!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!3/5/2017- we have had this for a few months now and it receives daily play!!

Sturdy and fun, even for mom!

We bought the Dizzy Disc for my son with PDD and sensory issues. He loves to be in motion, and I thought this would be a good pick. Both of my kids love this, and when we had a playdate at our house with five other kids, they were lined up to take a turn spinning. The Dizzy Disc is rated for users up to 150 pounds, so even I took a turn. It's a blast to use, and you can really get moving. Most people's experience with a spinning toy is with the Sit 'n' Spin, which was a decent toy back in the '70s when I was a kid. Today's Sit 'n' Spins are very cheaply made, and only spin for the smallest kids. Even then, the kids don't really get moving very well. This product is very sturdy, with integrated ball bearings, and it goes fast. The seating surface is big enough for kids and smaller adults to sit, lie on their bellies, kneel, or even stand (with a spotter - you could seriously kill yourself without one). The Disc also has an adjuster to change the angle of the platform for additional challenge. This is a great pick for any kids, but especially appealing for those with autism spectrum disorders or sensory processing disorder. This was well worth the price, and will be a keeper in our house.

Great product and delivery

The Dizzy Disc has been a hit with classes I have held for one to 8 year-olds. Kids need to be reminded to only use while sitting, kneeling or lying on their bellies but it is a great vestibular system development toy. "Bellies or bottoms!"

The kids love it, but the messed up sticker annoys me

This product came with a sticker peeling up. The sticker shows the setting of how level or tilted the Dizzy Disc is currently. I contacted them, and was told they would send me a replacement. It never came. The kids love it, but the messed up sticker annoys me, considering the price.

Longevity

We bought this for our daughter who has downs and has some sensory issues. This toy helps immensely. She can spend hours and hours spinning and singing. It is made well and will last for a long time we have purchased other spinning disc’s and they have not held up!!

Five Stars

A little noisy, but hey, it keeps these rugrats from climbing the walls for 15 minutes.
