Opens cans for person with broken right wrist
I purchased the Banngrui can opener because, with a broken right wrist, I needed a hands free can opener. Almost everything I eat- and lots of what my cat eats- is from cans. This opener has worked well for one week now. It does not turn itself off, but that is no problem- just press the button. It magnetically lifts off most can lids, and, as stated, the lid edges are smooth. You must buy the batteries separately. This opener let me open cans without calling on anyone for assistance. I am most grateful. Hopefully, it will continue to work perfectly.

great result, best opener bar none!
very easy to use, well made and designed. Although its made of plastic, it looks sturdy enough it should last for a long time.To use, all you had to do is place it on the can and press the button and it'll spin while cutting. Since it doesn't stop automatically, you'll have to press the button to stop it makes it more of a 1.5-2 step process but still super easy, no alignment needed.Whats really wonderful about this opener is the results. It actually opens from the sides of the can makes the opening safe, as well as making the lid "resealable" so by saving the lid, you can press the lid against the can and it'll close the can nicely. by putting some tape around it, it seals it almost as new.Batteries not included (4 AA) .

Double Time
It works well, but usually you need to let it go around the can at least twice.

Disappointed - but loved it
I Purchased this item after a friend told me she had one and my old electric under the counter can opener finally died. I absolutely loved this item... it works so well so easily I even sent one to my sister as a gift. How disappointed I was when one day it failed on me, actually pieces fell off...and it wasn’t very old. I think using it on a very large can overtaxed it, so maybe that’s why it failed and broke . I’d like to get another one but, a little hesitant ...Scared it will break again?

Ignore negative reviews at your own peril
Bought this in 2/2018, noticed cans weren’t sufficiently opening about a few weeks ago (it’s now 10 months later). When I first got it, worked fantastic. When I started to have thumb arthritis, I looked for ways to minimize having pain. When it started to not work properly, I checked to see what was going on. The motor seemed to be working, device was moving around lid, it’s just the cutting was off. Some sections were perfectly opened, then some seals were intact. So I let the opener make 2 or 3 more revolutions, still wouldn’t completely open. Plus, the lid now was jagged and crumpled and dented. I took a closer look at the two round gear-like components that does the actual lifting, and noticed they were now misaligned, one looked like it was dented slightly sideways. So now they no longer would hold the lid securely, in order to lift it uniformly. Has to be. The metal must not be very strong, it looks like an aluminum bent, I’ve tried flattening, but it won’t budge. Must’ve went out of whack, by a hard tin can previously lifted. To safely open, I had to use the manual lid lifter. (Good thing I didn’t throw it out, which I had initially planned to do. Luckily I got hand physical therapy for De Quervain’s Tenosynitis, so I no longer have pain using it). The manual worked, but since the lid edges were now funky due to the number the BangRui did to it, this had to be carefully done, since I now had to be careful with sharp edges. Thankfully, this item was cheap, but it’s still a good piece of change. Amazon also gets a bad review for continuing to sell an item that has nearly as much bad reviews as it has good ones. When a product has this many bad news, I always abandon ship. But I forgot to read them for this one. Ignore READING reviews... at your own peril.

Unwrap my can for a year
We have been using counter top opener the unwraps the can top for 25 years. The counter top opener does wear out after a while and for some reason it does not open Safeway brand butter bean cans most of the time. So we bought the BangRui opener to supplement the counter top opener and it does the job. The BangRui is the only way to go if you have gallon size (or however it is designated) cans. But do not count on the magnet lifting the lid, it will only do it some time. This type of opener does not contaminate the product in a can the way the "other" can openers do.So for large cans this is a must!March 13, 2018. After one year the opener quit working. Make sure you purchase canned goods without dented top edge to prolong the life of yor BangRui.

Works well at first, but becomes ineffective over time.
When I first got this can opener (about 5 months ago), it was awesome. It opened cans cleanly with no sharp edges and is small enough to fit in a cabinet, unlike electric can openers. However, after a few months it just does not work as well and changing the batteries does not help one bit. I have to use it four to five times on the same can and hope that it will eventually cut the top off. This is so frustrating when I just want to get dinner on the table on time--but instead I end up wasting time while begging this ridiculous can opener to do it's job. Don't buy it. It is garbage.

Fast and easy
To be very honest, I have bought over 10 can openers so far and none of them have lasted more than few months. This particular one seemed a little expensive when I first saw it online but thought of giving a try anyway and I am so glad that I did. All you need is 4 A4 batteries and you can let this little thing do the magic. I get a lot of canned food (tuna, spinach and white chicken) as it is healthy and easy to prepare and this machine opens the can as if it's not a big deal. You just put it on top of the can and it will rotate itself and stop when it's done. And when you pull it up, it takes the top of the can with it leaving you with the stuff inside the can. With this we don't have to worry about the cuts anymore that we could get while using the traditional can openers. I've cut myself numerous times while opening a can and thank god I won't be dealing with those issues anymore.
