It is a well manufactured piece, solid, weighty, and you can barely tell it's laminate. The surface doesn't scratch easily, feels good, and overall is pleasant to use.Unfortunately my desk frame's mounting holes didn't line up with the pre-drilled ones, but I made it work. The laminate DOES flake off if you drive the screws too fast!
