Zen of Drawing: How To Draw What You See

The book is great, no complaints there. But the Kindle version has no cover to it, so it looks tacky and is hard to find. I have other non-book documents I loaded on my Kindle that don't have covers, so it gets lost in those. But let me reiterate - the book itself is five stars. Great illustrations, great artistic philosophy, & great tips to grow from.

Love this book! It's amazing to see and learn about how these illustrations are done and what goes into them. Such inspiration!

Very interesting making a new way of looking at nature and place hopefully be able to draw as often as possible

more of a catalog of the author’s drawings and musings. i can’t say i really learned anything to improve my drawing skills.

It was the cover illustration which attracted me to this book, and there are so many great drawings inside, I think it's a bit of a find. The author doesn't labour his point, and lets his drawings convince you that there's a lot in what he says. At first, I wasn't caught up in his ideas , but on rereading and really thinking about his theory of drawing, I decided to try what he suggested. I can say that it made a difference to how I perceived my subject and I feel my drawing improved right away. It's more thoughtful...I know that might sound a bit airy-fairy, but approaching my drawing in a more considered way as Peter Parr suggests, has developed the way I draw. I'm a happy sketcher!

Libro aconsejable para aquellos que se interesan por hacer dibujos rápidos en la calle (Urban Sketching), especialmente cuando están en sus inicios. El concepto ZEN es aplicable a todo aquello que requiere concentración y atención, lo que es una característica esencial del Urban Sketching.

An interesting approach to drawing but not one which will appeal to most beginners. Its a rather idiosyncratic view and, for me, a rather difficult one to put into practice with much expectation that it will help to improve my drawing skills although it may have some relevance for those already versed in the art of dance.
