I can't seem to run out!
I was going through a safety razor kick back in the day and bought these thinking I would switch over for good. The fad wore off for me and I went back to modern, but I'll still use them from time to time and they're still sharp years later.

Very nice DE shaver!
Wow...I didn't think I'd like this much but it's actually pretty nice. I've got a nice bald head now after using it and I only left a few uneven spots which I'll fix in the morning. This razor is truly a "safety" razor. I had to seriously mess up to nick myself with it. It doesn't have a very aggressive blade pitch and at first I was disappointed. I am used to my straight razor and was a bit dismayed at how many times I had to go over the same spot to get it cleared of hair. However, I didn't chop myself to bits like with the straight razor. The one con that I have for this device is that the handle is super short! I have long fingers and it took a little while to get used to the shortness of this devices handle.I definitely like the razor and will be purchasing a stand, brush, bowl and shave soap to go with my shaver. I believe that using the proper products will lead to a better head shave. I started out attempting to use the "Creamo" product I bought ages ago just because I wanted to get rid of it. It doesn't work for my face and it doesn't work for my head either. Just like before...it gummed up my razor and made me face sticky instead of slippery. It just doesn't work...it goes in the trash in the morning.I wound up using the custom mix that my son's barber made/sold to me that i normally use on my face. It's made from all natural oils and goes on smooth and see through. After I used that, the hair came off of my head quickly and the areas I used it on have no irritation.I'll post an update once my shave soap and brush arrive and I can take a proper shave.

Ditch the disposables
I had to laugh when I heard of "dollar shave club." I don't think they meant "dollar a shave" but that would be kinda like starting a "fifty dollar cheeseburger club," wtf? One day I was buying razor blades for the latest great multi-blade razor and I was looking at prices like 12 for $36 and 6 for $24. 3 or 4 bucks for a durned razor blade? When did American consumers get that stupid? One of the big companies has started running commercials about how they've lowered prices for proud Americans who buy American razor blades - yeah, you should reward a sucker from time to time after you've ripped 'em off for a while. Sell the sexy technology, sell the latest and greatest, but in the end, sharp edges have been around as long as mankind. Buy a nice little $10 or $20 razor of this type, and you can buy 100 (one hundred) Parker or other brand razor blades for around 10 bucks. For most guys, that's easily about a year's supply of blades for less than two weeks of the fancy blades. I like the shave better with this old fashioned rig. It doesn't clog up every other stroke when I've skipped a day or two and developed a little stubble. Less rinsing and a faster shave under any condition. Far less packaging waste. Anyway, this is a nifty little razor and it will save you a couple hundred dollars the first year you use it. If you buy a new one every year, you'll still save hundreds and reduce the waste in packaging and plastic parts very significantly. Just make sure you tighten it down when using. If you use this type of razor with the head a little loose, it will draw blood before you know it. I'll never go back though. I'm glad I tried this.

My husband is a huge fan of these horror film razors. Not only is it frightening to use, I cringe each time it glides so effortlessly across his skin. With each flip of the wrist, my gut makes a flip flop as I anticipate one wrong move and a cut of the jugular where blood comes spurting out and nothing can stop it....He has yet to do that though since at 25, he's somehow mastered the art of shaving.Instead of taking 5 minutes to shave his face like a normal person with a little soap and water, my cabinet is littered with razor holders, boxs of safety razors, soap, face wash, brushes and bowls. And it now takes him 20 minutes which is longer than I spend in there to take a poo.Apparently, there's a special technique and way you have to use it too.First, you go up and wipe. Then side to side and wipe, then down and wipe with applying cream in between. It sounds like some sort of weird foreplay that I want no part of nor do I care enough to watch it being done after the first time I seen him use it.The worst part is I have no room for my box of tampons and have to take 2 extra seconds to reach the top shelf where I put my vagasil. And men complain because women have too much "women stuff".Still, I must admit that his face is soft in the end until the next 24 hours he decides to shave. And if you're a women like me, do yourself a favor and buy your husband a Gillette.

Very compact for travel
I gave this five stars for ease of use because I'm an experienced person with a safety razor. If you're not, you really need to watch some videos about how to use them the right way. I really like this one because it is smaller, and the blade comes out by turning the handle, not like some of the other ones that clip in. I've been using this one for several months while on the road, and I don't have any problems at all. I actually picked this up with a bunch of different blades and a travel case, and this worked perfectly with the travel case. Very glad that I got this, and surprised that it works just as well as my very expensive one at the house.
