Old heat pump was 56 amps, this unit is 8 amps and same tonnage but quieter.
OK, this might be more a review of the new technology than the unit itself. All new AC units are coming like this. The one it replaced was a two ton unit, using 56 amps when running. This one, a two ton unit, uses 8 amps when running. I chose Gree because PG&E rated it as the number 1 best AC unit on the market in its class. I have had it for several months, and no problems yet.
