Social Security: Simple & Smart

The book is very concise and easy to understand. However, I had one question that I wanted clarification, so I contacted him via the e-mail that is provided in the book. He responded with an easy to understand answer the next day!By comparison, I asked the same question to the Social Security Administration, and they referred me to their 2 page rules and regulation which did not answer the question at all.

Tom Margenau explained key questions about social security in an understandable and concise manner. I believe this is *the* book to buy if you can only buy one book on social security. I bought this book and another book on social security that had been recommended, but I believe this book knocked it out of the ballpark because I caught several errors in the other book, whereas the information in this book proved itself to be correct. Highly Recommend!

Very comprehensive for the average person. It answered all of my questions and more. Easy read.

I only read about half of this 90-page book, not because I lost interest but because the chapters largely are independent and half of the book didn't apply to my situation. It was easily understand and allowed me to make informed decisions of my spouse's and my Social Security claiming strategy.One downside is that I thought there might be links to on-line calculators to maximize present value assuming that one's life expectancy was average for one's gender, but there was not. So don't expect a rigorous mathematical treatment.

Good Primer Quick read. Covers most facets of social security and exposes the myths and truths. The book doesn’t disappoint.
