What a great device! I was skeptical, this was my first solar product outside of a calculator, LOL - but it definitely met my expectations.Even in a moderately sunny area (or on cloudy days) it still seems to charge up just fine, enough to run on the "low light always/motion activated high" main setting. As far as I can tell, except for one night I used it on the manual "high on all the time" setting while doing some work outside for an hour or two, it's easily gone all night in the standard mode.The motion sensor is good enough that it picks up my cat walking by - and has a nice reach of 10-15 feet. Installing it was very easy. While it feels well-made, it's a very light device (no pun intended). Just to test the spot I wanted to place it in, I used two push-pin-style thumb tacks and slipped the light on them and it held great. In fact, I've left it that way for several weeks now and it still feels very secure, even when I reach up and change settings. I'll likely put some screws up before the winter, but honestly the tacks (pushed all the way into a wooden window frame) works like a charm.Very recommended, I'm going to pick up a couple more this fall for other areas around the outside of the house. With zero energy cost and no real installation required, this is such a handy device. My only wish is that the ten-second bright motion activated mode was a bit longer (I've found myself flapping my arm to keep it active when needed a few times) but since you can just flip the switch to keep it on, it's just a minor preference (30 seconds would have been a better choice for me).

Out of the box it had a charge enabling one to select the desired setting before hanging. Great range to both the front and sides. Nice bright light. If a future setting was incorporated it would have to do with how long the light remains on after movement ceases. It goes out rather quickly when motion within its range is undetected. This could be considered a plus. However, tonight when a cat (probably) tripped the sensor, the light went out again before I could get out of my chair. Just constructive suggestion. I would buy more if a location presents itself.

Been up for a long time now. Gives low light in front yard and when I go out to walk the dog, light level comes much higher and easy to see in yard. I have to keep moving around, though, because it goes to low light level too quickly if it does not sense motion. But it does come on when my 5-pound Yorkie get near, so the sensitivity if fine. Light level on high is also fine.

UPDATED-- IT WORKS! instructions are still not clear but the recommendation to hold the button 3-5 seconds after dark brought it to life. Seems to work good, very bright. Delay is a bit short, a minute would be better but 20 secs is ok. At least it can be set to be on/off not dim/bright.defective, does not work. Let it charge several days, no luck. Instructions are some of the worst english translations I've seen. Great concept, poor results.

This actually works. I installed outside it for my chicken coop. I like how the lights is very bright, and that the sensor works well. I've had it for a little time now and it hasn't failed me yet! Through rain too. I have no cons so far. It's a great buy, I recommend buying it! I'm buying some more to put around the coop too!

I bought this 2 years ago and installed in my parking area at home. I keep it on the motion sensor setting, so it comes on when I drive up in the car (or if the cat or dog or a deer walks by). The light is fantastically bright and spans a wide area. I live in the country where there is no ambient night light nearby. I have had other solar/motion lights prior to the development of LEDs, and they were dim and short-lived. Very pleased with this! Buying a 2nd one today for my guest cabin.

I purchased this light to illuminate a small patio for the townhouse. Why the builder did not include one is beyond reason. It is perfect for a small 8 by 12 foot patio area. My only concern is that the LEDs are right up against the clear lens and could damage your eyes. I will take it to a plastics supply house and try frosted Mylar as a diffuser or a scrape of white overhead florescent light diffuser. It is bright enough that I don't think it will really effect performance. It is very well constructed. I would definitely recommend this light. If it had one more mode, Auto-on in Dim mode & Off it would be ideal for RV camping.

We purchased two of these solar lights and after the install ordered one more. We have one light at our back door which is around a corner and the rest of the back yard is very dark.. We have a grassy area for our dogs on the other side of the house and I was using a headlamp to see which was really not sufficient. We have the lights set for low light from dawn till dusk and high light when motion is detected. The dogs run over to the grassy area and set the high light off before I even get there. It is the perfect amount of light when needed and the low light gives enough light to see. These are exactly what we needed.

This is my second one ad they are amazingly bright. Love them
