Does the Cisco Switch include any type of license?

Yes and No. It comes with a Network Advantage perpetual license. That is good for the life of the switch and never needs to be renewed. However 9k series switches also require a DNA Advantage license to go with it. The first time you boot the switch it starts a 90 day timer. You have that long to get it to login to Smart licensing and confirm your license ownership. Currently on the market a 3 year DNA advantage license for this switch I have found for about $1700 additional. You can let the license expire in 3 years if you don't need the features and then you'll only be using the Network Advantage license features that never go away nor do you have to renew. All this can be found on Cisco's website.
