Watchdog Breathalyzer My Accurate Breathalyzer, 6.4 Ounce

Four Stars because my product arrived on 12/24/13 without 2 AAA Alkaline batteries and I had to go out and buy them. Product arrived N.I.B. in pristine condition with 5 new individually wrapped breath nozzles and the carrying case is great. The box the product comes in was also great. Everything fit nicely. So far it has been easy to use, and works as the instructions describe it.

If I would have known breathalyzers were actually available for the general public, I would have purchased one years ago and therefore I would like to think that our family would be without a DUI. My husband got one last year for failing the field sobriety test and blowing a 0.09. If you were to ask prior to his arrest if he was over the limit, he would have said no. He just didn't seem drunk to me either. We had to learn the hard way that how intoxicated you "feel" and how intoxicated you actually are can be too very different things.We have been using the Watchdog now for 3 months (husbands car) and we don't leave home without it. We have just bought a second one for my car as well so we are never caught without our safety net. Here are the details:Device: It is quite small and fits nicely into the sun glass holder or door holder area. The readout is large and easy to read. The quality is very nice and it has the same soft-touch plastic used on the nicer iphone cases. It comes with batteries and a fabric carrying case that does offer some padded protection.Usage: The device has only one button and is super simple. It takes about 10 seconds to warm up before you can blow. The instructions say it is important to take a deep breath in order to record your actual blood alcohol content.Summary: I like the fact that this company uses the same technology as the police breathalyzers. Therefore we know what we are up against. We are much more in tune with how we feel when we are half way to the legal limit. This is when we either stop drinking or find a designated driver. Without a breathalyzer, we would merely be guessing if it was safe to drive.

This is a cheap breathalyzer. Almost impossible to blow enough air in it to get it to work. I think it's defective, but I cant return it or exchange it! :(

Every home should have one of these...they aren't just great to have when out on the town but great to have peace of mind when you have friends over and they are leaving for the night. Some people think they are just fine with a couple of drinks but you can never be too sure so having the Watchdog makes it clear as can be. You aren't protecting just their lives, but also those on the road with them. It's super easy to use! I have a friend that has made some poor choices in her past and her legal level has to be at .000 so we did a fun test to see what cough syrup does and even rum cake. You would be surprised. I highly recommend the Watchdog to watch over your loved ones.

I read all the reviews and they either sound like marketing-glossies or something similar. My impression is that the reviews are probably written by employees of the manufacturer. Too nice. Too "clean." No product ever reviews this way.

It's worth every penny. Having a breathalyzer in my vehicle (SmartStart) that only goes to .oo having the extra .000 really helps. Saved me from many fails.

I run Halfway House's and have two of these units and they work flawlessly. Had one for a couple years and recently bought another.

Works great. Tested it with calibration gas and it was dead on +/-.001. That's the same requirement when testing certified LE devices.
