comparison of Eclipser HD and Eclipse Shades
I bought a pair of Eclipser HD by American Paper Optics and a pair of Eclipse Shades by Rainbow Symphony. Compared them briefly (along with the free pair of paper shade that comes with Eclipse Shades) and the following are my initial impressions.1. I wear prescription glasses. Both fit better and block out more stray light from the sides than the typical paper shades. The paper can be even stay in place over my heads. personally I find Eclipse Shades block out slightly more stray light, but that probably depend on the types of glass frames I am wearing.2. construction wise, Eclipser HD's silverish reflective film feels thinner than the black film of Eclipse Shades, which looks and feels a little more durable. Eclipser HD silver film seems to be of similar material to the paper shade.3. Looking at the sun, all three project the sun as an orange/yellow disc and looks clear. Among the three, Eclipse Shades' sun looks the darkest (more orange) but it has the least amount of halo. Eclipser HD's and the paper shade's sun looks a tint brighter (instead of a deep orange, it leans towards a yellowish-orange) but there appears to be more halo around the sun. Eclipser HD more so than the paper shades.I don't have a conclusion which is better since the eclipse has yet to come. Would the slightly brighter sun (but with more halo) rendered by Eclipser HD render my experience more enjoyable than Eclipse Shades slightly darker sun with less halo? I don't know, I guess I will be switching back and forth comes Eclipse day. If I had to choose one pair at this time, I will probably go with Eclipse Shades, for the better fit (for me) and a "cleaner" sun (with the least amount of halo)You can't go wrong with either one of those. I would definitely not recommend the paper shades, which lets in too much stray light and does not stay on my face at all. My recommendation is, whether you wear prescription glasses or not, for a once in a lifetime experience, spending an extra $15 for a plastic framed shade is well worth it.

Well made but not wrap around enough
Nicely made and they do the job of blocking light. These cannot be worn (nor can any sun blocker glasses) unless you are looking at the sun otherwise it is no see anything time. The sun shows clearly through these as a small orangish orb-- surprising how small it is when you can actually look at it. My only criticism is that they should have a dark plastic wrap around because so much light comes in around the edge of the glasses-- i.e. it does not block peripheral light--- that unless you shade this light with your hands the peripheral light ruins the night vision effect and the sun is not as clearly seen.

But this is the first time I wore solar glasses I was thinking these would be like having super dark sunglasses that would be 10X times ...
When I have these on all you can see is the sun nothing around it . But this is the first time I wore solar glasses I was thinking these would be like having super dark sunglasses that would be 10X times darker than normal sunglasses were you can still see the landscape around you but not really .if I was you don't were them well driving it would be like driving at night with your car lights off.

NASA approved!
So I bought them because obviously I want to see the eclipse.... but I was worried about something that NASA put out saying "American Paper Optics, Rainbow Symphony, Thousand Oaks Optical, and TSE 17" are the only good companies for eclipse glasses. I double checked and this was done by American Paper so if it is good enough for NASA to say it is safe, it is good enough for me. And FYI, this is really really dark.

Total Eclipse of Sight
Waiting for the eclipse on 8-21-17 but in the meantime we have had some good laughs passing them around for people to try on. They completely black out normal light and show just an orange disk when looking into the sun. I think these will work well.

Made 08.21.17 Truly Special
The solar eclipse came and went and we got to see it thanks to these.I was worried about the whole counterfeit thing but these worked great. We used them a whole bunch that day and I am happy to report we aren't blind!Comes with a nice little baggie to insure the lenses don't get scratched up and you can reuse them for the next eclipse.

which makes me more comfortable that they will provide adequate protection
ISO and CE certification printed on the frames. Plus they are marketed by a reputable seller, which makes me more comfortable that they will provide adequate protection. Warning, there are glasses be sold on amazon that are not certified. They say they are but they are not when you get them. I have three of those cheap ones that I am returning.

Absolutely amazing
We bought these for the upcoming 2017 total eclipse so obviously we haven't used them for that yet. However, we were concerned about how they work because it looks like the lenses are completely black if you put them on you are basically completely blind. We went outside and put them on and were amazed at how the sun looked. It was so cool to see just a big orange ball. We're so excited for the eclipse
