HTPOW 1000mw Mini USB Laser Engraver DIY Art Craft Handicraft Engraving Machine

I had to give this little laser engraver 5 stars because it does what it is suppose to do just the way it should. It is a small engraver, please read the details, many buyers seem to not realize that it does a small area.From opening the box to engraving took me about 20 minutes. This included installing the laser, followed by installing the drivers on my Windows 10 laptop. I had no glitches as I was able to take the image I wanted, and drag and drop into the provided software and start engraving. There is a bit of a learning curve as far as the burn time in relation to the type of material being engraved. I have used simple cardboard, wood and even engraved the back of a phone case. The machine does a beautiful job on leather.The biggest downfall (aside from the small size) is the instructions. There isn't much to go by. There is a video I watched before purchasing, which ended up being very helpful when I was setting it up and using it for the first time.The one bit of advise I have: Make sure the computer you are using doesn't go into hibernate mode in the middle of a longer engraving session. This will cause the engraver to stop and there is no way to start back where it left off as the program will also shut down.Overall it is definitely worth the money I spent! I will provide photo's of some items in the near future.

Whoever sells this has the best customer service i've ever seen. When i received the product the stage was broken.. i emailed them and they emediatly apologized and sent a replacement part. They emailed me later to see if i got it and if everything was working. It works great. The cool part is you can do things in powerpoint then just take a snip of it using snipping tool and laser engraver that image. Good for logos or whatever. I burned a selfie with it using the gray scale option. really cool. The instructions aren't super clear but if you have any brains it's really easy to learn. For the price I highly recommend.

It's pretty cool. Best "toy" I got myself in a while. I had it up and running in about ten minutes. You just have to attach the laser with two screws and install the software. Easy but (1) The two screws are NOT magnetic, so epect to drop them... a lot, LOL and (2) the screwdriver they give you, just throw it away and use a real driver.The software does have limitations but its fairly easy to understand and get a grasp of whats going on.I also put a small muffin fan (computer fan) next to it, as I found with heavy etching, the smoke tends to stain the wooden fob without the fan.Setup was fast on a win7 laptop. Then I tried to install on linux using playlinux and wine. No go. drivers cant find the port. I didnt hack anymore but suspect I could direct the ports with some root level commands but didnt want to bother. Then I installed in a VMware win7 "vbox" within Linux and it ran ok but would not let me adjust cutting time to less then 30ms. Again, didnt fuss with it too much as it works ok on my win7 laptop.I see replacement laser heads are avail for less then $40 and I might get one as a backup. So far I have etching anything I can get my hands on, LOL. Put the grandkids portraits on wooden fobs. etched names in pen barrels (linearly), make a couple rude ones (snicker, chuckle).Merry Christmas to me!p.s. This is a well built metal housing. nothing flimsy or cheesy about it.

I really love this thing. It was very easy to set up. I am using it to make custom wood gift tags.The directions are terrible. The English is pretty bad. A video on how to put together the laser is included on the USB drive, just follow that.The software is pretty straight forward. I do wish there was more info included about general laser settings for different materials. You will need some trail and error.The biggest annoyance is that the power cord is too short. This is meant to be a desktop unit, but the power cord is way too short to really find a convient spot on my desk. I have been pulling it down to the spot where it reaches the power the best and still have to stretch to power cord tight.

Great looking engraver but what good is it if the shipment keeps missing parts. We never could get the program & the data cord that are listed as contents to the package. It's just too bad. My friend 43 year old daughter wanted to use it to help gain more income.

originally I gave this 5 stars. I have used this intermittently since I bought this last August. I would say that I have burned maybe 30 things since I got this last August. about three months ago It started messing up. It starts like it is going to run only to shut down before it starts. I paid over an hundred dollars for this. I feel like it should have lasted a little longer than it has. The other thing is that there is absolutely no support for this.

For a very inexpensive laser, I think this is a great product. I wish the instruction manual had more suggestions on how to best control the carving time, etc. It take a good amount of playing around to get the settings right to cut the best image. I also don't understand why the software is flagged by my anti-virus software - I think this also could be addressed, but overall it's a nice laser to play around with for just over a hundred bucks.

I love the idea of this engraver. It set up easily and I made about 3 practice prints. It isn't top notch but the price is low. On about the 4th print it just stopped working. It would not burn anything. The laser no longer illuminated on the item to be engraved. I packaged it and sent it back. I really needed this to work but I will have to come up with something else

It does exactly what is claimed. A great hobby tool, nothing fancy or professional.I had a hard time finding the software. Lucky for me, I found out in another related article.I also found out that by pushing the middle button on the unit, it will do a little demo where it etches a copy of an image that is on a piece of cardboard mounted on the laser table when you receive the unit. You will see a printed picture on the cardboard test piece. Pushing the middle button will center the image (you might have to move the cardboard piece a little bit) then it will burn in the image on the test cardboard piece.When it finishes, it will center itself and standby.It works well for such a small and inexpensive contraption. For the money, it's a gas to play with. A cool toy.

This was the best option for the price. I make hand made lathe turned pens and wanted to make custom designs and engrave names in my pens this works quite well for that. You need to really make sure the laser is focused as tight as possible to get a clean engraving. So far I've engraved about 7 types of wood. Cardboard and black plastic. It preformed well on all the software is surprisingly easy to use. You just should always do a test run on a blank disposable piece of wood to make sure all the settings are right before you engrave anything valuable. Hope to one day get a higher quality engraver but this was a good introduction

after using the engraver for a couple days .and i can say i'm delightful with the machine ,excellent product thank you .
