It is a liquid form that soaks into the included applicator pad. It wipes on easily and has a mildly crisp scent. It provides a sense of comfort that you won't be working surface dirt into the leather during conditioning. The No.4 Auto Leather Refreshener and Conditioner is a "milky" cream that stays on the pad quite well. It also has a mild scent that will not overpower the true scent of your car's already fine leather. Per instructions I applied liberally to all leather surfaces working 2 sections at a time. passenger seat and door, then driver's seat and door, then circled back to the passenger side. After generous application as the cream soaks into the leather, it dries with a very light film on the surface (this would not be noticeable on lighter colored leathers). Unlike Lexol which is overpowering and leaves a somewhat hard slippery coating on the seats even after buffing away. While I cannot yet comment on the longevity of the conditioning, this seems to be by far the best leather conditioning product I have used.
