Direct Hits

I love 'greatest hits' albums and this Killers CD fits that bill. While there are several songs that are played frequently on the radio, there are others that are rarely played so it's great to be able to listen to them when I feel like it! There are also several songs that are new to me. Bottom line is that I'm 100% happy with my purchase. I only wish this comp was put together after 'The Man' came out because I LOVE that hit!

I had the most recent copy of the Killer's new LP, but I didn't own any other Killer L.P.s. This double LP solved that problem. It is a greatest hits LP. When you listen to it, almost every song you will have heard before, if you listen to a quality radio station. If you have no idea who the "Killers" band is or the music they play, this will be a great introduction to their music.

I've not paid much attention to the Killers until watching a Killers concert on Palladia. What a polished group! I took a chance and purchased 'Killers Direct Hits'. I really like it. It has become my favorite CD. Out of 18 tracks, there isn't a bad one. I have a pretty diverse appreciation for music. I like everything Johnny Cash to Stevie Ray Vaughn and AC/DC (my favorite) to Metallica. I now have a whole new appreciation for the Killers. I can tell you, this is a quality CD.

In this day and age of cherry-picking songs off of iTunes, listening for free off of You Tube, and self-made playlists, there seems to be little need for an officially-released compilation album. However, I am very pleased that The Killers have gone the traditional route and compiled all their best songs into a single new release.Like many other reviewers, I already have all The Killers' albums, so the only new material I'm getting is tracks 14 - 17. And yet I don't consider my money wasted, because I do think it's important to support your favorite artists financially. Not only is it just the right thing to do, but it enables them to continue making great music. Secondly, listening to this whole disc all the way through serves as a reminder of what a great band The Killers really are. Certainly one of the best bands of the new century.The "Mr. Brightside" demo and the "When You Were Young" remix are really the only tracks I don't care for. As one reviewer stated already, the "Mr. Brightside" demo is only mildly different from the album version, and the "When You Were Young" remix, like many remixes, is superfluous.The new song "Shot At The Night" is fantastic, more proof that The Killers almost can't make a bad song.All in all, whether you've been a dedicated fan since their first album, or if you're just getting into The Killers, I would say this album is worth your money.

If you have never bought an album from this amazing band, then this is the one for you as it has a collection of some of the best songs from the previous albums plus two new songs, "Shot at the night" and "Just another girl". If you like bands such as U2, Imagine Dragons, Keene, One Republic, you would love The Killers!Since this album includes some of the best hits, there is no need to list the best ones as in my opinion all of them are great! This is a great album for newcomers, and for those who love this great band, then I still recommend it for the two new songs and to add it to your collection.

The selection of tunes in this album is adequate, not perfect, but passable if you enjoy this artists sound. The quality is exceptional with little defects in the sound quality and play-ability of the disc itself.

I am huge Brandon Flowers and Killers fan and this album is nice to have to have all the hits on one album. There are some songs I wish would have made it on here like "Jenny was a friend of mine" and some others, but you can only fit so many songs on one CD. It is great for a newcomer to the Killers or just for a fan who wants to support them. The songs "Shot at the Night" and "Just Another Girl" were fantastic. Worth it for any Killers fan.

I mean. It’s the Killers. On Vinyl, for a better price than u will find it anywhere (even that little local shop, sorry). But it, u will listen to it and live the vibes.

At first I thought the poor quality was down to the mp3 encoding of the downloaded material.When I got the CD though, it was precisely the same. Having done some research I understand this isn't down to the CD reproduction, but just the initial amateurish recording method.What a pity, they killed it. Great content let down by abysmal mastering. Sadly lost forever.Still, good tunes and a reasonable price. Unforgivable poor quality mastering though.

Love this album - have it on a lot in the car - very uplifting tunes. Got this after they appeared on the Glastonbury Pyramid stage...great session by the band.

This is a really good value for money DOUBLE VINYL ALBUM.... the digital age has made albums on CD format to be made on one disc... on vinyl it is a gatefold sleeve 2 disc edition... the price paid is generally less than a single disc LP .... super stuff !!!!! Thank you

Perfectly crafted pop rock, from a band at the top of their form and anything that includes Mr Brightside is a winner in my opinion. The perfect place to introduce yourself to The Killers!

This is a review of the 'standard' album: I don't really know why I don't own any Killers albums, but decided to rectify the situation with the purchase of their greatest hits! This is an album that, if you like this kind of music, allows you to put it on random play, sit back and listen with the need to skip songs and/or change the album once you've heard it once (if that makes sense?!). Some of the more recognisable songs are complemented by ones that I didn't recognise so well (I am a big fan of the song 'The Way It Was', for example)
