I wanted to use a 2nd screen with my new Mac mini. All I have is lighting ports and HDMI port. The HDMI is also on my computer screen. You can use a lighting port for a screen. You need THIS adapter. THIS WORKS. It took me 3 tries. Please get this!! It works great!!!

link my laptop's port to the cdmi cable to the tv. Worked fine. Took 1 star off because the little bugger got fairly warm/almost hot. electronics don't like heat so longevity impacted? don't know - only guessing. I will update IF this unit fails, but for now it's fine.

Works great no issue so far on my ipad mini 6 gen

This is a small and lightweight plastic adapter. I previously had a uni hdmi 4k60hz adapter that was much nicer with metal housing and a braided flexible cable. It worked on my lenovo ideapad 720s but did not work on my samsung galaxy book, only giving me 30hz. I thought it was because of the usb 3.1 gen1 ports on the galaxy book lacking bandwidth, but regardless of gen or bandwidth, if the usb-c port can support video, it should be able to replicate a dp 1.2 signal with the four lanes available, which does go up to 4k60hz. And yes indeed the galaxy book CAN support 4k60hz and this plugable adapter made it happen with zero fuss. The uni adapter is much more popular but I don't know why it didn't work. Blame the terrible headache known as usb-c standards, or lack thereof. Even though the uni is built much tougher, the plugable has its charm, as it is feather light and half the size. And if you happen to own a galaxy book, you kind of have no choice.

I had gone through 3 adapters until I ran into this one for my 2016 MacBook Pro. They all "sort of" worked, sometimes connecting, and other times requiring me to reboot my Mac to send an image to the monitor. However this adapter connects my Mac to my monitor everytime.Bottom line: Reliable, it works everytime.Bonus: I also have at home a 40" 4k Samsung TV with HDR and this adapter correctly connects right away to it at 4k resolution and 60Hz with HDR.

Received this a month ago, and it worked exactly as expected for some time. However, about a week ago, the connection began being inconsistent and would cut in and out every so often; enough to be annoying, but still usable. As of today, the devices I've been using this with have stopped recognizing the adapter and won't output any signal. I've tried using other TVs, HDMI cables, and output devices and the problem has been determined to be the adapter.Failed after a month. Unbelievable.
