## Description

Product Description SOG POWERACCESS ASSIST MULTI-TOOL SOG PowerAccess Assist MT is the ultimate daily use multi-tool, with one-handed assisted open access to frequently used knife blades and tools that lock securely in place once open. SOG's patented gear-driven Compound Leverage mechanism features twice the cutting and gripping power of conventional pliers, with a center axis magnetic hex bit driver for enhanced capability. ABOUT SOG Our story begins in Vietnam, where members of a highly classified US special ops unit - known as MACV-SOG - carried a unique combat knife into the jungle on covert missions. Years later, in 1986, that knife inspired a young designer, named Spencer Frazer, to found SOG Specialty Knives. His mission: to reproduce the original SOG Bowie knife and pay tribute to the special ops unit that created it. What began as a single commemorative model soon became a full line of innovative tools - field-proven by US Special Forces, even honored as the Navy SEAL knife of choice. Today, SOG knives are carried with confidence into the most demanding situations. Forged out of tradition, hardened in the field, honed for you. Review: A Powerhouse - This is a nice multitool that is sturdy and hefty weighted, which I believe is SOG's answer to the Leatherman Surge. The material is a black oxide stainless steel metal that is sure enough to hold up against the elements. There are 21 included tools total; blade, package opener/seat belt cutter, serrated blade, awl with sewing hole, magnetic bit driver, chisel, inch/cm ruler, wire crimper, bottle opener, and many more. This tool is very versatile for a handful of tasks. Another plus side of this tool is that it is a operates as a one handed opening mechanism. You swing it a certain way and the pliers are ready to go. All the main tools are located on the outside portion, so you don't need to open the pliers fully to access them, such as a Leatherman or Gerber. The price point of this item is phenomenal on here, since it saved me about $40 compared to SOGs main website. If you need something strong and realible, but are on a budget, pick this; this is still a great quality tool
Review: Solid military engineering quality. - Full disclosure, I’ve been using SOG multitools ever since I went through Special Forces Engineer school long ago. So I’m absolutely a fan. These are the toughest multitools I’ve ever personally used. I especially like the gear driven compound action pliers; almost like having a vice grip. This one improves on the original with the one hand opening blades, which is greatly appreciated. It’s certainly not a compact or lightweight tool, but it carries easily on a belt or in a cargo pocket. Not cheap but solid quality.
