Upon opening the box I was initially impressed with what seemed a good quality product
I received this product yesterday. Upon opening the box I was initially impressed with what seemed a good quality product. The headlight was weighty, sturdy, appeared well constructed, and was super bright. The tail light, however, is completely another story. I can find no way possible to make this item work. Clearly there is a fault somewhere on the printed circuit board. I have changed batteries and ensured they were in correctly. I even took the batteries out of the working headlight and had my wife put them into the tail light. Still nothing. As far as I am concerned this is complete junk. I bought a set of two lights and only one works. The worst part was when I logged back on to Amazon to check about warranty and clicked the link to warranty and return information I got a one line message that says contact the manufacturer with no information about how to do so. UPDATE: Upon receiving a critical review Knightbat contacted me directly to see if they could make this right. Ultimately, it took Knightbat two more attempts to get a product that actually worked into my hands. Their customer service was very responsive (and apologetic). Ultimately, I love the product and I have to give credit to their customer service folks who did a great job. As for their manufacturing and quality control - you decide. Three times they shipped products in order for me to get one that works. If it had worked right the first time this would be a five star review.

AMAZING Bike Headlight and Taillight Combo!
I usually do not take time to write reviews because of time but this deal is just too awesome. Just did 5 miles at 11:00 PM to try out this set. It was amazing! I had the whole town to myself. The headlight made it possible to see probably 50 feet in front of me with a great view of the whole width of the road. Tried narrowing the beam, but found I really liked the beam at its widest setting. Love the security of the laser lights and flashing taillight. Installed it in about 3 minutes two days ago. Tonight I just popped the lights into their brackets in 30 seconds and headed out. I foresee many late night bike rides in my future. At this price I think you will be hard pressed to find a better deal.

Favorite tail light with a bright headlight combo!
I've been looking for a high quality bike light with a tail light and I've found it. Knightbat know what they're doing and what serious night riders look for in bike headlights. I like that the focus lens head can be easily adjusted by pushing forward or pulling back. No twisting. I also love that you can use this as a regular all around flashlight too. It lights up all that I need lit and just takes 3 AAA's. It's weather proof and has a nice rubber on/off button at the opposite end. Also, comes with the mount shown that's pretty durable. The tail light is probably my favorite thing about this combo. Its plenty bright and has some really neat modes you can select plus the laser beams on the both sides of you makes you that much more visible. All an all, I'm very happy with the craftsmanship and customer service.*Disclaimer* I received this product for free or at a discounted price. However that does not impact my review and I treat this as if i went to the store and bought it. Everything stated above are all my own personal opinions

Decent flashlight, not really a bike light. Controls aren’t ideal. Mount is weak. Focus mechanism is shaky.
This is a moderately bright bike headlight or flashlight. The design is a tactical flashlight with a bike mount - heavy duty black metal, a serrated bezel around the light. And the tail light is cool, and has a neat laser feature, as well as way too many LED patterns. But there are a number of caveats. The first thing - this isn’t even close to as bright as a claimed 960 Lumen bike light I already have. It falls somewhere between a 400 lumen flashlight and that. But towards the middle, not the high side. At full brightness, it is good enough for a night ride - but it isn’t going to blow you away with clarity and distance if you have used a really bright light before. Also, it isn’t focused like a bike light - just a big beam, nothing that makes it go wide and down to illuminate the road well without getting a lot of upward glare at oncoming traffic.Second - the controls are a pain. Pressing the button fully in turns it on or off. Pressing it in partially changes the setting (high/medium/low/strobe/SOS). The problem is that pressing it all the way in is also pressing it partially in. So it changes modes every time you turn it on or off. If you always want full brightness, you have to cycle through three modes every time it comes back on. The controls complaint also extends to the red tail light. The laser only has three modes - on, flashing, off. Pressing the laser button cycles through them. The LED has six - high, many patterns, off. So to get from off to on and back takes 6 presses of the button. That is if you don’t accidentally hit it one too many times.Third - the mounting bracket is… odd, and not the most secure. The bike holder is a standard plastic bracket, with a tightening bolt, fairly standard. The flashlight holder is just a pop in rubbery plastic piece. Seems to hold okay, but nothing to tighten down, no way to really secure it against bumps and bruises.Fourth - the focus mechanism is a simple slide. It stays in place reasonably well, but it is a slide. On a light intended for a bike over potentially rough roads. It won’t stay where you focused it indefinitely, and who knows which bump will knock it to a different focus (or off the mounting bracket all together). That isn’t the end of the world, the same number of lumens are coming out. But you will suddenly be seeing either a really bright spot or a much more diffuse glow, depending on which way it goes.Neutral - it comes with a sleeve for an 18650 battery, and testing it with one worked fine. Would be better if it just used that to start with, but for the price not a big deal.On the upside - it is pretty bright. As a handheld tactical flashlight, it is decent, forget the bike stuff - good weight, solid build, comfortable in the hand. The rear light is also bright, and the laser feature is pretty cool looking, although I am not sure how practical it is (will the driver coming up behind realize it is a bike he is seeing, or be distracted and confused by the two red lines on the ground?).Overall, this isn’t the choice I would make if looking for a bike headlight. If you want a handheld flashlight, and a decent tail light at a decent price, go for it.The product was provided to me at a discount in exchange for a review. The review is my own.
