Brilliant easy to use
Love this . I bought this for my granddaughter to learn SpanishI think it’s the best purchase I have made this yearThe Spanish is really good, great selection of songs, stories, learning words, letters, numbers etcBeing operated by batteries it means it can be taken anywhereOnly suggestion I could offer it’s a bit more disc with small basic conversations between charactersAnd may be a carrier for the player and discs I bought all the selection and the bag does not fit them allBut overall great product

Excellent toy for a trilingual family!
I bought this for my 15 months old son as we are a trilingual family and this is a perfect screen free learning toy for my boy. It’s easy to operate even for a young toddler. He enjoys listening to the sounds and putting discs on. He even enjoys pressing the buttons for the green light to shine!

Description not clear enough
Couple of things I dislike. If an adult doesn't switch it off, every hour or so it will talk for a few seconds reminding you to play with it, which can be quite annoying in the silence of the night or when you're trying to get a toddler to sleep. And the volume can be quite high. The other thing that quite annoyed me was that, raising a bilingual child in the UK, I was looking for a toy that helps teaching European Portuguese. In the description it just says Portuguese, and a quick search on Google made me believe it was European Portuguese. When it arrived I was very disappointed to find it was brasilian Portuguese. Again I searched on Google and found out, after a not so straightforward search, on the Timio website, that you can actually change the eight languages bundle it speaks. There's a large SD card in the battery department, gladly my old PC has a reader for those cards, I downloaded the language pack I wanted and now our Timio speaks with a Portugal Portuguese accent like I wanted. However, this info should be made available on the product description, and if you don't have an SD card reader you'll have to buy one to be able to accommodate your language needs. The sound quality is quite good. Of the starter kit of 5 discs my two years old only cares about two, the farm animals and the vehicles one, and doesn't seem to like the classic music nor bed time sounds. He does give a chance to the stories ones every once in a while, though for me these stories are annoying as the narrator uses a slow and paused, but extremely forced intonation.

There are better screen free devices...
I primarily bought this for foreign language use, but my child can easily change the language, so that use is out. Also, I think this might be more appropriate for a 2-year-old. It is quite simple, and my 3.5-year-old isn’t into it anymore. There is a very bright LED light that you cannot disable that is problematic if your child uses it in the dark. A better screen free devise is the Lunii.
