G/flex Epoxies G/flex is a two-part, toughened epoxy that can make structural bonds which absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. We formulated this system for high elongation with an ultimate elongation of around 30%. The increase in elongation and lower modulus (stiffness) that it provides equates to better adhesion to substrates. This helps it resist a peel or delamination from starting. G/flex has a 1:1 mix ratio by volume for easy measuring. It’s also ideal for bonding dissimilar materials. We offer it in two versions. The liquid version, G/flex 650, has a consistency similar to honey. You can thicken it with 406 Colloidal Silica to reach the same viscosity as the 655. The pre-thickened version, G/flex 655, has a consistency like gel toothpaste. With proper application techniques, it will bond to wet/damp substrates and dense or oily woods like teak and oak. G/5 Five-Minute Adhesive G/5 Five-Minute Adhesive is a two-part adhesive that will cure to a gel state within minutes. It has a 1:1 mix ratio by volume. You can wet sand it about 30 minutes after application. It is ideal for a temporary, quick cure that’s convenient for some applications like fabricating a quick custom sanding block with some scrap fiberglass cloth and a piece of foam. G/5 should not be used where high loads are expected or if it will be continually immersed in water. We've used it on pressurized fuel tanks too. Fixed punctures, even cracked threaded connection collars. This is the best epoxy we've ever seen. The key is all in the prep work, using 80 grit as instructed. Once the plastic is sanded and prepped, for added strength it advises "curing" the plastic before applying epoxy by heating that sanded plastic area with a torch (flame). Clearly this step can be dangerous, do only if it's an empty aired out tank. Otherwise skip this step. Prep, prep, prep is the key. **Q: does it work with wood?** A: Yes, but the regular epoxy works very well with wood and is less expensive. I bonded plastic to wood with this. **Q: Will this epoxy work on cement steps** A: Not sure how you're proposing to use it exactly, but it's a great product and will work on virtually anything. **Q: What type of prep work is needed if i'm using this on a scepter water jug? light sanding? i'm trying to glue an abs 6x12" plate to it the jug.** A: Sanding for "Tooth" and then a "Degreasing " on Both Items (jug & base) I use denatured alcohol. I'd lay the Jug Base down into the Gflex and let simple gravity do the joining.
