Love this product. We got it to use with our Big Green Egg. We do a lot of cooking competitions and we decided to slow cook pork. We got this to keep an accurate reading as the digital thermometers we have been using cause the Egg to loose too much heat. This has a long enough wire to fit outside the egg and it's thin enough that it does not cause any heat loss. The accuracy is right on point with the Palermo digital meat thermometer that we use. It was very convenient and easy to read

I'm used to being able to set my own temperature and this one has a series of fixed temps. It would be much nicer if the backlight had its own button and could stay on for a longer time while I'm waiting for a precise result. Otherwise, the unit seems nice. How hard would it be to incorporate the ability to preset any temperature? It should power up in manual mode with a user-settable temp like a normal thermometer.Comes with a spare thermocouple (temp probe). That was unexpectedly nice.

I got this about one month ago, but didn't have occasion to use it until yesterday. I took it out of the box, put batteries in it, and it doesn't work! Now the back/battery cover will not stay on the product, it worked for a few moments and then the screen went dead. I'm very disappointed.

Loved the functionality of it, hated that the touch screen stopped working after 4 uses and hated that the temp gage stopped reading accurately (as in, at room temp would read 245 degrees) after about 7 uses. meh. Wish I had replaced my kitchen aid version instead of trying this one.

174 is a little too high for chicken but you can select other meats for the alarm to work.

This is a really great item. It is so easy to use and very accurate. It is very convenient to have two thermometers to be able to monitor two meats. And the timer/alarm is a life saver. Highly recommend.

love it easy to work, I smoke meat and once I get it going , set the timer and leave it alone until it is done.

I used this thermometer to smoke a pork shoulder. The thermometer worked great for this application. I loved that I was able to stick it to the smoker and run the probe through the door so that I could monitor the progress of the meat without opening the smoker. The thermometer that I used before was the old school dial type that can only be read when the door is opened letting all of the smoke and heat out. The only thing that would be nice is if both probes could plug into the thermometer so that I could track 2 cuts of meat. I usually like to cook both pork shoulders at the same time, I would have to have 2 thermometers to be able to do this. Otherwise I really liked the product. I am a little worried about it's durability. The on/off button seems a little flimsy but so far it works great. Hopefully it will last. I would recommend this to a friend that is looking for a good affordable thermometer. I received this product for a discounted price in exchange for an honest review.
