The Tea Shoppe Winter Palace Marzipan Rooibos (4 oz)

This tea is interesting and fun to drink, but it is not quite what I expected from the description. I didn't find it fruity, and the chocolate flavor was underwhelming. I had also been searching specifically for a tea that wasn't minty, but despite no mention of mint in the description, this one definitely had a minty component to it.I'm going to keep trying with this tea to see if I get different results from brewing it differently. After three minutes of steeping in fresh, boiling water, it didn't taste like much of anything; I got the results described above after about half an hour of steeping.EDIT (11/5/17): I finally discovered the steeping directions on the back of the package . . . maybe trying those first would have helped. :) I liked the tea a lot better after steeping for five minutes with freshly boiled water—I think rooibos may not be entirely my jam, but this steep definitely brought out a sweeter, fruitier, smooth flavor so that the minty hint wasn't as overpowering to me. Upping my review to four stars.

I must admit I was skeptical when I ordered this tea, as I've tried rooibos tea before and hated it. However, this tea is delicious! The marzipan/almond flavor is strong enough to mask the earthy taste of the rooibos but not so strong as to overpower it. A perfect blend. I highly recommend it, especially if you, like me, are trying to develop a taste for red tea.

Tea was nicely packaged and fresh when opened. It's got a nice body; a little sweeter than I normally like, but overall it's well cut good tea for a decent price. Some marzipan teas can come off as bitter if the almonds are bad, but these weren't. If anything, I wish it had just a bit more bite, but if you're looking for a nice soothing gentle tea, this is for you!

i LOVE this tea. I am a tea collector and fanatic and I had this exact tea flavor but it was from Germany. I could not find the exact one in the states, so I ordered this. This one is actually better since it is loose leaf and it has sliced almonds that you can see! I have already ordered twice and will order again because I keep end up giving it away since I have friends that LOVE this tea as well and I gift it to them.

We were looking for an alternative to the very expensive TWG brand of Bourbon Vanilla Rooibos. This is it! Tastes very very similar at a fraction of the cost.

Wonderful almond flavor - smells as good as it tastes.

Satisfying, soothing and chocolaty. A nice treat before bed.
