🌍 Stay Connected, No Matter Where You Roam!
This China SIM Card offers 90 days of connectivity with 6GB of high-speed 5G/4G data, 50 minutes of local calls, and 100 local texts. It allows for self-registration and activation outside of China, ensuring you stay connected globally with a local Chinese number.

Get the 2GB SIM card instead.
Texting and phone calls worked as described. However, do not expect the data to work like you are used to in the US. LTE speeds are not always available. There are still a lot of places in Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing where I got an Edge (2G) service. Furthermore, because of the Great Firewall of China, which does not allow access to a lot of US websites including FB and all of Google services, you don't need this 6GB data plan. Plus, free Wi-Fi is available in most major cities. If I have to do it again, I'll just get te 2 GB plan.

this network generally seems better. As with all internet here
Life saver! Shipped overnight, arrived the next morning. For activation, I had confirmation within 45 minutes of emailing a photo of my passport, visa, and the phone number listed on the card.Popped the SIM in on the plane, and immediately worked when I landed in Beijing. Got txt messages from China Unicom confirming the minutes and 6GB data.Service of course can be spotty in China, but I've been fairly impressed, even on train rides thru more rural areas. Compared to others on my trip who are using China Mobile, this network generally seems better. As with all internet here, Facebook, GMail, and many other sites are blocked. Definitely pay for and install VPN software BEFORE getting to mainland China.Best reason to buy this card is that it lasts 90 days. All the other poor saps who bought China Unicom SIMs when they arrived in China got totally screwed. Those cards ALWAYS expire all data at the beginning of each month. So let's say you buy a SIM in China on the 28th of the month and have 1GB data - it will be gone on the 1st of the next month!! People found that out the hard way.. Again, with this card though, your data/minutes will last 90 days.Last major bonus here is the English language website for support and adding minutes/data AND WITH US CREDIT CARDS. Pretty much no businesses in China accept US credit cards, so refilling the card would be difficult, and requires cash in person transactions at a China Unicom store.I used this card extensively in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Handan, Qingdao, Shenyang, Taiyuan, Taizhou, Yixing, Wuxi, Chongqing, Ma'Anshan, Hefei, Ningbo, Changsha, Yichun, Changsha. A few times on the train it dropped to 2 or 3G, but generally very solid.I also used tethering (Mobile Hotspot) and it worked flawlessly. Honestly, the Wi-Fi can be so terrible in hotels that I often just used the data on this SIM and kept Wi-Fi off.Lastly, it was super easy switching my Uber account to use the Chinese number, but then still have it charged to my US credit card.

Don't plan on using this for Google/Gmail/Google Maps/FaceBook/Twitter over VPN
I purchased this card for use on a one-week trip to Shanghai and Beijing. Long story short- when I connected my VPN (Open VPN, TCP over port 443) nothing went through. It appears that the setup with the carrier is blocking VPN. The same VPN worked like a charm when we were on the hotel wi-fi, and also works like a charm in the US. If you are not planning to access any sites that are blocked by the CN government, this should work great; when connecting to properties that weren't blocked, the access was pretty quick. It was convenient to have a local number.

Customer service hooked me up!
This is a post-covid purchase review!Bought a sim card from them before covid. It worked fine. I remember uploading my passport last time, but this time I didn't see a request. Anyway, got to China and installed the chip, but no luck. Found the registration page on and downloaded and filled out the registration form. Contacted customer service. They actually answered and I know it was Friday night, day after Thanksgiving, so...wow! They got me going within 4 hours! Amazing! Now I'm connected in quarantine without having to rely on wifi that isn't secure. And as soon as I get out of quarantine, I'll be connected anywhere. I would buy from them again. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who needs cellular service in China. For reference, I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra, unlocked. I'm getting max bars, so...Thanks so much!

Don't buy it, the card is never activated
I bought this card because I need to visit China for two weeks. After received the card they send me an email about sending me the passport copy to do the registration/validation process for an activation, I send them my passport scan and think I am good to go. That is when the nightmare started.Since I need a telephone number to reserve my flight tickets/hotels in China so I used the number on the card to fill all the forms online , I was a little bit worry about whether the card is activated but there is no way I can check that because I am in US. Then I found myself lost in Beijing when my plane landed at the Beijing Capital International Airport and my phone indicated "No Service".So the following days I have to get another SIM card at the local shop and make many calls to the hotels/flight companies to change my information. Luckily their service was pretty good and I was able to finish my trip on plan. But the time I wasted in Beijing for making those calls and a worthless plastic card that cost me $75 are such a bad experience.
