Awesome idea but didn't work for me
Should work for headphones but I needed the cable opening to be bigger to wire it up to an RCA cord. (which admittedly this jack is not made for so that is on me) Picture shows the inner shield on an RCA cable would not even fit through the jack's opening.Good build and looks good but beware, make sure you don't short your cables on the pivot joint (exposed metal) and the solder points are TINY!

Cool unique product, one fault.
You cannot find any other product like this right now. If you want something with this functionality, this is your only option. Everything functions just fine, there is one problem however. The threading in not a perfect fit. The end of this is at a slight angle because of this. Look at photos for better take.

Hinge totally blocks the cable path. Huge bar going lengthwise.
Terrible design. The hinge should have been floating or riveted together on the edges. Instead, there's a huge bar that goes THROUGH the plug, which means it's blocking the path of the cable. If your cable is bigger than a human hair, get ready for friction, rubbing, and ultimately a short-out or bridging situation. Good idea, terrible implementation.
