Easy to use and works well
I use the USB device with a Timex Ironman Race Trainer heart rate monitor watch. To use the USB device, you must download and install a free app, `Timex Device Agent', available on the Timex web site. It is easy to move the watch data to the computer. Once your data is on the computer, the app will upload it to the free Training Links program. I view a curve of heart rate versus time for the entire run and/or lap, a graph of time in each heart rate zone, and tables with average, max, min and recovery heart rate. I also manually entered my route information into the program so I get average speed. (You have to enter the route manually unless your watch has GPS capabilities.) I have not used the feature of the Timex Device Agent that allows me to reset the watch parameters so I don't know how easy that is to use. It takes a little experimentation to figure out all the details of this three-part system, but it is not hard and works fine. There is an advanced Training Links program with a monthly fee with more capabilities, but I am doing fine with the free version.

Nice add-on
I have a Timex watch that tracks my heart rate from the strap around the chest. You plug this into the computer and the watch syncs with this device. You can upload the data straight to the computer or to a website. The website is not customizable and only works with one company as far as I can tell. On the plus side, I found a lot of information on the website regarding the workouts that I uploaded. On of the pages let me view my heart rate on a scale over the elaped time. I could see exactly when my heart rate was highest and when it was lowest. It even showed when I had pressed the lap button so I could see which lap (or set, depending on when you press the button) I worked the hardest on. Very nice addition to the heart monitor watch.

Over Promises and Under-Delivers
Great idea not so good execution. Product does enable the syncing of the Timex Race Trainer data to the PC. However the USB should be offered free with subscription to the Training Peaks website. Free version of software will allow for uploading of watch data and entry onto a web based calendar but using any of the data requires a subscription to the program. Only graphacial presentation availaable from the Free version is total calories burned by day, want to see a graph of your heart rate average - that'll cost you, want a graph of your distances run - $$. Cost of the Training Peaks Premium software is $19.95 a month ($120/year)at those rates I think the Data Xchanger should be free with purchase of the subscription. Not much use for uploading data if there's no way to use the data - have yet to find a way to move data to a spreadsheet so I can use it nor to print the data.

Crippled Datalogger/viewer
It does log data, but I wish I had seen the review saying it would cost $120/year to view (what I consider) the 'good' data.I would not have bought this just to see the 'free' info about min/max HR and calorie count on a third party website.

Great, but I wish IronMan HRM let you know you needed this from the start.
See "title." Kinda crappy that your HRM doesn't live up to it's potential unless you nab this little bugger.

Good idea lousy execution
Junk from the very start. Wrist band then broke. Then Timex wanted to charge a subscription fee then stopped supporting it all together. ...I may never buy another Timex ever. Short term $ over quality.

good product - works well
The data xchanger works well with easy transmission from watch to computer. the program that you download with this product, however, contains a lot of unnecessary detail and can be very tricky to use. while you can do a lot of things with this program, figuring out how to do those things is not very easy.
