Yukon Ranger LT 6.5x42 Digital Night Vision Scope

This binoculars is so fricken awesome!!! Wow you can clearly see so much stars and planets. I live in a big city with a lot of light pollution but with my naked eyes I thought I was seeing a whole lot but with these babies it’s brings out so much stars and planets. I seriously need to find a star gazing chair, I got such a neck crap the first night I got these. I look forward to looking up to the skies at night. I got these for our trip, I can’t wait to use them on Haleakala.

Being a regular hunter and user of night sight devices by Yukon and Pulsar, I was expecting great things from the LT but straight out of the box, it was not as good as I thought it should have been and in my opinion, not good enough for positive target identification at anything beyond about 40m.The short range IR is just that - good for up to around 10 - 15m so don't expect any more. The long range IR is good but the image quality at all ranges is a bit fuzzy - not at all as sharp as the Yukon Photon night sight. Using the same trick as the Photon, I tried stopping down the optic lens using a selection of different large fibre washers. I found a great improvement in image clarity and sharpness using an aperture of around 15 - 20mm. I don't know why Yukon don't take this on board and provide an aperture reducing cap as they do with the Photon (albeit with no instructions as to how to use it !).I was considering sending it back but having discovered this simple mod, I have decided to keep the unit. I would hope the more pricey models in the "Ranger" series have better optics which at least as good as their IR rifle scopes !One other thing you might want to be aware of is the battery life. With the main IR on most of the time, it eats batteries ! My first outing used up a set of new batteries in a little over 90 mins (not the quoted 5 - 12 hours). I do have a spare 11.5v NiteSite Viper battery which seems to work in the power input jack and which I expect will last longer (and is rechargeable). It will however need a NiteSite 1.5m power lead extension as mounting the external battery on the Ranger is not really an option.

Und das liegt gar nicht an der "Optik"1. Für Brillenträger völlig ungeeignet (entgegen der Beschreibung)2. Das Bild scharf zu bekommen ist fast unmöglich. Die Schärfe muss am Okular UND Objektiv eingestellt werden. Der Schärfebereich ist extrem eng. Beide Verstellungen gehen extrem leicht. Hat man also endlich das Bild scharf gefummelt und legt das Gerät aus der Hand, hat es sich dabei garantiert verstellt und man fängt von vorne an.3. Der Bedarf an Batterien ist enorm.Die Bildqualität ist, wenn es denn mal scharf hat, für ein Gerät dieser Preisklasse gut und auch der IR Strahler hat eine gute Reichweite.Nützt nur alles nix, wenn das was man beobachten will weg ist, bevor man mm-weise an zwei Einstellungen dreht...Leider hab ich Trottel die Rücksendefrist verpasst. Ce système autorise ainsi une autonomie d’environ 12 heures.Je ne vois donc pas de réel intérêt à investir dans l’une ou l’autre des batteries externes préconisées par la marque.En fonction des réglages et de sa propre vue (qui, en ce qui me concerne, est loin d’être optimale), pour une vision nette, la portée maximale est d’environ 200 mètres : impressionnant !!!Résidant en campagne, j’entendais régulièrement au soir un hibou dans les alentours.Grâce à cette monoculaire, j’ai pu le repérer et l’observer à loisir avec netteté et bonheur, alors qu’il niche dans un arbre situé à environ 100 mètres.Il m’arrive aussi de rouler jusqu’à la forêt domaniale qui entoure mon village pour aller observer sangliers, cerfs, chevreuils, etc… La monoculaire étant alors branchée sur l’allume cigare.L’alimentation sur secteur ou sur allume-cigare prend alors le pas sur l’alimentation par piles.En conclusion, j’en rêvais et suis totalement ravie de cette acquisition.À votre disposition pour toute question, passez par la rubrique « Remarque sur ce commentaire », j'y répondrai avec plaisir. Angesichts des Preises durchaus empfehlenswert, wenn man sich daran gewöhnt hat, wie klein der Scharfstellungsbereich ist und immer nachjustiert. Dank Digitalgerät braucht man nicht auf Lichtquellen zu achten. Trotzdem könnte die Auflösung höher sein (1024 aufwärts), dann wäre es ein wirklich sinnvolles "Zweitfernglas".
