Decorative, well-made and manageable for everyone.
This item is hand-crafted in the best tradition of American woodworking. Seriously, it is very charming and yet completely utilitarian. It will look fantastic in your garden. It arrives quickly and already 95% assembled. It will last many many years with little or no effort on your part! It is about one quarter the size of a typical bee hive, so I wonder if a typical honey producing colony will will thrive in such a limited space. See my photo: standard-sized yellow coffee mug for reference. At the same time, the smaller components make the entire beekeeping experience much more accessible for so many gardeners. Time will tell, but I'm enthusiastic!

Nice looking, but it has many flaws.
I don't know what I can say good about the box other than it looks nice. I don't want to sound so negative, but here are the problems you will run into.1. The frames are a different size than any other hive. If you want more, you have to buy from them this company. There is no other vendor. I ended up just making extras myself.2. The frames do not fit snugly inside of the box. When it is full, you would like to have 1/2 of another. Because of the extra room, you will have a problem with them making a lot of bur comb.3. The metal corner brackets end up locking each end frame in position. If you want to pull one of the exterior frames, you need to first pull one from the inside, then shift down and pull the other out. It gets old.4. There are a lot of air gaps in the box construction. You will have a lot of problems with invasive insects until they fill them with propolis.5. The boxes do not hinge together securely. They are kind of loose and "clunky" and, therefore, they hive is not very sturdy. My suggestion: Buy a langstroth style. If you ONLY WANT ONE HIVE....and you never feel like splitting....then this hive will do. You will find that removal of one frame of honey to sell is pretty easy. That's about all I have to say.

Simple, fun, easy to use and set up
I am a first year beekeeper. I have two hives, a langstroth and an eco hive. I find this eco hive to be really simple for me to use and go into. I haven’t needed a hive tool to separate the frames or boxes. The frames are so easy to handle and Cary and don’t get too heavy when holding them up to find eggs or anything else. Adding a starter strip to the frames is real simple and the best part is, the bees make the wax super fast compared to the langstroth frames because there smaller and efficient in size. See pics above. I also added two eco frames to a regular size langstroth frame to help build out the wax of all my eco frames. I have so many different fun ways I can use the eco bee hive it’s pretty amazing.

Don’t buy
Don’t buy. Incomplete. Parts missing and no reply to fix the problem. Air space everywhere. Cannot fit all frames I. Hive due to the metal brackets
